Fantastic review!!! And thank you for not spoiling anything–I’ve purposefully held off until the Switch release and cannot wait! Also, I’ve been a fan since Dragon Warrior on NES and it is THE game that got me into RPGs and I’ve always held it in such high respect because of that!

I’m going to try to get into the series again. I got pretty far in VII and VIII but fell off. I’m going to try XI pretty soon

As a Dragon Quest Fan since the first game on the NES I’m very glad they keep the hero from speaking. It harder to project yourself onto the hero when he/she might say something that you yourself would not. I’ve always just used my imagination on how my hero would reply.

Much like Link it is something I personally would rather avoid them adding. I don’t want the hero to feel more like a character more so then a character I create and project onto him. It nice to have an RPG which we are still able to do so, but that is me personally. It is nice being able to feel like you are the hero.

What an awesome video. You have a similar story to me. Dragon quest 8 was my first entry into the series I loved that game so much and playing 11 feels nostalgic especially the sound and music. I’ll be double dipping aswell for switch version. The 2d mode looks cool as well

I also feel like the way they handled the muteness of the hero seems a bit out of place in this one. It seems like VIII handled it more smoothly
