All things considered, the final story arc made me cry.
October 6, 2018 @ 11:48 pm
The mother’s Rosario arc was amazing because Kirito was barely there. Hallelujah!
October 6, 2018 @ 11:48 pm
The main driving point of sao season 1,and 2 was Asuna’s personality. At least for me
October 6, 2018 @ 11:48 pm
I agree I don’t really care either.
October 6, 2018 @ 11:49 pm
Aincrad Arc- Good at the beginning and slows down near the end.
Alfheim/Fairy dance Arc- overall complete shit and incest.
GGO/phantom bullet Arc- Decent but stale Villain and more harem material.
Excalibur Arc- FILLER, FILLER AND MORE FILLER
Mothers Rosario Arc- My personal favorite Arc in the series. The focus changing to somebody other then Jesus-Kun was really good. Yuuki was the best character in the show, fight me.
October 6, 2018 @ 11:49 pm
Arc Summaries:
Aincrad Arc: Great, but could definitely be better
Fairy Dance Arc: Complete garbage, burn it with plasma
GGO Arc: Great, but still could be better
Second ALO Arc(I literally couldn’t care what it’s called): ABSOLUTE GARBAGE THROW IT IN A FREAKING BLACK HOLE
Mother’s Rosario: Made me bawl because Yuuki, only decent arc since the first few episodes. Though it could have been better, but that’s only because the previous arcs were garbage. The best overall.
I really had high hopes and was massively disappointed. I enjoyed the first part and literally punched myself in the face for struggling through it till Mother’s Rosario. The only things I really enjoyed were the intro songs and closing credit songs. Ex. Overfly, Ignite, Startear. And the good art style and animation. Except for the ignite, that rotation scene was terrible.
I’m considering the new GGO spin off but am really against it because of past experience with SAO.
Character problems, plot problems, and just really bad writing ruined it for me. It could have been amazing, but failed to excite.

Omg! This video "like" to ratio is hella good, was expecting more dislikes but, no. Just shows how good of a review GR did. Goodjob!
October 6, 2018 @ 11:52 pm
I only watched your video to see you bitch s2 out
October 6, 2018 @ 11:52 pm
S3 inbound. Btw, skipping ahead 5s increments when the dialogue gets stupid really improves the experience.
October 6, 2018 @ 11:52 pm
#deathnote#iluminaticonfirmed#wakeupsheeple!
October 6, 2018 @ 11:52 pm
So asuna and kirito arent in a relationship in season 2??
October 6, 2018 @ 11:53 pm
WHY CALL IT SWORD ART ONLINE youe not in SAO
October 6, 2018 @ 11:55 pm
SAO’s anime would instantly be way better if the dialogue script wasn’t so bloody stupid. Nobody IRL talks like these characters do. No believable fictional character talks the way these characters do.
Also A-1 Pictures is garbage at making adaptations. It’s not like they weren’t aware of SAO being Kawahara’s Babby’s First. They had every opportunity to greatly improve on the original set of light novels with restructuring and re-envisioning of the story events, but simply didn’t for whatever reason.
Here’s to hoping for a mulligan with SAO Progressive being animated, and hopefully not animated by A-1. Preferably a combination of the manga version and the light novel version and structured to actually work as an anime on its own.
October 6, 2018 @ 11:57 pm
they got a movie not a new season
October 6, 2018 @ 11:57 pm
1:38- Actually, I would prefer a retcon to SAO. keep all the good things that the show bad, but fix the bad things that it had at the same time.
October 6, 2018 @ 11:59 pm
the abridged is better

Negative Points Of Kirito According To GR:
-Kirito
-"Tragic" Events That Made No Sense

-Stop Focusing On Sinon’s Ass
-Kirito

Well, the sexual assault thing might just be A1 pictures fault. They tend to be the studio that ruins important, emotional or depressing moments with inappropriate camera angles
October 7, 2018 @ 12:01 am
7:50 Wait….. if killing someone made Jesus-kun go into a depression, why was he so quick to kill the Creator of SAO? Plus he *DID* kill a few people…. didn’t cry about them ?
October 7, 2018 @ 12:01 am
Review da movie
October 7, 2018 @ 12:04 am
things I don’t like about sword art online 2
the lack of swords
October 7, 2018 @ 12:05 am
Sion really was the best character. The fact they added guns was great. I don’t think Kirito bring up that event where he killed someone was bad. The time in season 1 was closer to self-defense than murder, while that event he and others actually searched for Laughing Coffin for a fight. That’s why it was probably more traumatic, and the fact he forgot/buried the event and moved on, only to have it shoved back into his face was interesting.
Don’t care at all for Asuna and her story and problems, so the first arc was better for me.
October 7, 2018 @ 12:07 am
I can see a crossover between the GGO arc and death note which would strangely be better where light has to kill death gun for making kira look like a dumbass who kills for petty reasons.
October 7, 2018 @ 12:16 am
I know that at this point I’m unlikely to affect anyone’s opinion of the original SAO but I still wanted to share my two cents. I actually liked the filler episodes the most. It reminded me of Doctor Who with Kirito filling the role of the Doctor. Yeah, Kirito was always inexplicably the most powerful player and could overcome any challenge without real effort but I didn’t mind because the filler episodes weren’t about him. Rather, the filler episodes were each focused on the new side character of the week and their different problems and struggles and how those problems were changed by their interactions with Kirito. I actually really enjoyed this part of the series and thought that the side characters were incredibly interesting and relatable; especially considering that I, personally, am usually that person in an MMORPG who is just stumbling around and trying to make heads or tails of the whole thing before being taught an incredible lesson by some random power player who lives and breathes the game.
But, yeah, once the show decided to try and tell a real story centered on Kirito, and once it decided that his relationship with Asuna should change from one of friendship through recognition of equal skill to one of damsel to be rescued and protected, the whole thing sort of tanked for me. Not only that, but it made me worry that the parts of the show I had found fascinating in the first place were only accomplished on accident. I guess what I’m saying is that I agree the first series of SAO was pretty bad but there are still moments you can look at and see a really amazing show that almost was.

October 7, 2018 @ 12:23 am
Sao Alternative is a much better GGO show. Llenn is cute, Pito is sexy, yeah.
October 7, 2018 @ 12:24 am
Honestly after finishing sao a couple years ago I felt depressed because at first I liked it but then by the alo arc I couldn’t stand it but episode 25 in its entirety made me feel good on the inside with the happy ending so when I heard about sao2 I pretended like it didn’t exist because I knew it would get more fucked then it already was so to this day I still haven’t watched it and after this I’m still not planning to I guess I’ll just wait for the next seasons of 7 deadly sins and OPM because when I watch sao I just makes me depressed btw if anyone wants to recommend any anime’s to watch feel free I’ve already seen soul eater, the first 2-3 seasons of fairly tail which idk if I should watch anymore, Rosario and vampire ( which I regretted ) but anyway I’ll take any rec’s thanks in advance
October 7, 2018 @ 12:25 am
hahah
October 7, 2018 @ 12:26 am
Well, we are getting a spin-off that focuses on new characters this year.
October 7, 2018 @ 12:26 am
I was the same way. It took me ages to get round to watching sao2 but now that I finally watched it all I am way more into it and the movie that came out was genuinely so good!!
October 7, 2018 @ 12:27 am
My entire reaction while watching the show, over and over:
*”OK,, BUT WHY????*
Like playing more VR after all their terrible experiences.
Grinding in VR. Basically not leaving, after that being their main goal!
His growing harem, INCLUDING his SISTER!!
Beating a boss because people attack in unison.
A girl afraid of guns, exclusively playing a gun game.
A gun that kills people for real, but in reality it’s just regular murder and the government doesn’t figure that out.
The sniper hates Kirito because she thought he was a girl.
The girls’ clothes only show off skin..
The magic NPC girl dealing with Excalibur turns into Thor, and a real person asks the NPC for her phone number.
People are afraid of nudity in VR.
So much of the series if just summed up by:
*”OK, BUT WHY????”*
October 7, 2018 @ 12:28 am
I just wanted to know how to pronounce sinon
October 7, 2018 @ 12:29 am
I couldn’t explain to you why SAO is on my top 10 list. I’m aware of all its flaws, but I just really enjoyed it.
October 7, 2018 @ 12:31 am
another thing that ruins it is Bryce Papenbrook :))))
October 7, 2018 @ 12:31 am
Its Just Not What I Look For The First Few Episodes Were Cook
October 7, 2018 @ 12:32 am
Im curios on how the animators feel when animating the essentially rape scenes in sao lol
October 7, 2018 @ 12:32 am
Everyone likes Sinon. Sinon is the best.
October 7, 2018 @ 12:32 am
SAO season 2 is also fantastic as the first season. Kirito character is so well written. SAO season 3 will be fantastic. ?
October 7, 2018 @ 12:33 am
I always recommend .hack//ROOTS and the .hack//G.U. games to people over SAO. .hack//SIGN is boring but it is a much watch iv you plan to play the project .hack games like infection-quarantine.
October 7, 2018 @ 12:35 am
Regarding the Foley, the swords still don’t sound like swords (they sound too solid, real swords vibrate so they ring a bit) but at least they don’t sound like frying pans (looking at you, princess principal)
October 7, 2018 @ 12:36 am
I love SAO!
October 7, 2018 @ 12:36 am
I’m the same way, Sinon is hands down my favorite SAO character.
October 7, 2018 @ 12:36 am
I give it a 2/10
October 7, 2018 @ 12:37 am
Gosh man, when you started this I kinda had my hopes up with this Shion girl that I was thinking "Hmmm maybe I could watch this season as a standalone since I couldn’t even finish half of the first one" but then you started going into the bad stuff and I face palmed like never before and I’m really disappointed with AOT author and yeah I hate this show…yuck! never watching it!
Also I loved the cons list you made lmao! yes I feel you and I HATE that kid as well!
October 7, 2018 @ 12:41 am
SAO II > SAO.
If only there wasn’t Kirito, it’d be perfect.
October 7, 2018 @ 12:41 am
Sucky LN series, results in sucky anime series.
I AM SHOCK!!!
October 7, 2018 @ 12:42 am
Honestly the Destiny comparison to GGO being an “mmorpg” is exactly right and I’m so glad he mentioned that
October 7, 2018 @ 12:43 am
Mother’s Rosario arc proved to me that Asuna can carry this show as the lead.
October 7, 2018 @ 12:45 am
Wait how many arcs are there in sword art online???
October 7, 2018 @ 12:46 am
Was told not to google the Harry Potter fanfiction My Immortal.
Me: Goes immediately and finds it on google, reads it, and dies.
Who else deliberately stepped into that bear trap besides me?
