I want to be exited for this game but it looks boring AF. Maybe I’m just too old?

You are the builder, not the fighter. Leave that to your partner

I’m not a fan of Minecraft games, but I have DQB1 on my vita, and from what I’ve played it’s awesome. It’s treated like an action rpg DQ with minecraft elements.

1: this game wasn’t made for combat.
2: People need to stop comparing building games to MINECRAFT

The reviewer definitely never played the first one. No comparison to the first game whatsoever, just comparing it with other DQ games. Get someone else to review the game IGN. This is one unenjoyable review.

A solid review, lack of mention of multiplayer (the biggest addition to me) and no info of how it runs on switch was a bit of a bummer.

Wow. Thanks for telling us about those cool sound effects dude what a solid review. That’s definitely what I wanted to know about. Not the different aspects of building and different mechanics not about the multiplayer, I clicked on this to hear about those “sound effects”. 10/10.

I played the first one on my ps vita and loved it. Can’t wait to get this after I buy a switch. I prefer playing more laid back games like this one while laying in my bed.

Okay so a couple things. I get how your biggest gripe is the fighting mechanics are pretty simplistic but if this game is like Minecraft then it’s suppose to be lol. Hear me out.. why would they put a bunch of time and effort into those mechanics when they are releasing the actual rpg later this year? I purchase this game yesterday and can clearly see the dynamic between your player and Malroth. HE is the fighter YOU are the builder. Your not suppose have a bunch of fighting skills. Not a bad review I feel like it was a bit rushed. This game is pretty dope I will say and think it would be great for anyone who’s looking for a casual/relaxing JRPG to play.

This game isn’t focused on the combat. That’s why you cook food? You just eat food to boost your health. Also should of played the first one before you reviews the second one or at least compared it.

"I never played the first dragon quest builders and I didn’t feel like I needed to" – Yes …. you did, all the stuff your in awe of was in the first one, I want to know if this is just DQ2 builders mode centered off the original DQ2 or if it has anything new was added from the "builders" perspective. This review is worthless and tells me nothing about the game. Prerequisites to review this game should be a) Familiarity with the Dragon Quest / Dragon Warrior series [especially 1 and 2 as that is where they get the maps etc …], b) Familiarity with Dragon Quest 1, and c) Familiarity withe games in the genre [minecraft etc …]. This is IGN not some small time reviewer …. pathetic.

How about someone who played the first one does the review? As someone who played the first one I’m most interested in how the game has changed or stayed the same, especially with multiplayer. Absolutely baffling.

This guy has no clue about the point of the game.

This game is called Dragon Quest BUILDERS!!

    Not dragon quest fighters?

    July 21, 2019 @ 12:44 am

Although slightly whiney near the end, and uninspired use of words in the conclusion.
Also mentioning that looking up malroth wasn’t needed, as that spoils the story itself.
No comparisons to the previous game and where the game has changed in terms of quality of life and world.
No mention of how the multi-player works.

Still, this review did an admirable job.

    I give this review a 7.0/10.
This review has room for improvement.
    Admirable stuff.
