I’m black but seriously why the hell is L black?! Makes no sense!
Next we should get Samuel L. Jackson to play Eminem in the new 8 Mile.

I fully support this adaptation. If you want the TRUE TO SOURCE go watch the boring live action films a few years back. I’ll eat my words if this sucks, but I doubt it.

This trailer ruined L because he doesn’t even have the courage to see light in person without a mask. In my opinion at the very least this was a very important concept. Because L showed his face to Light he made it almost impossible for Light to kill him right away.. I wish they would have stayed more true to the characters.

I don’t like the feel the trailer gives the characters
    (L) didn’t give off his "childish and hates to lose" personally he had a mature and collected feel different from what he is known for
(Misa) has a brain in this that is a good thing as in the manga she was a tool for light to use not the one he loved like she wanted to be, but here she seems to be with light before he gets the death note and that shows how light won’t be ok with removing her like he is in the manga and that could be a problem
(Light) this light gives me the same feeling of one of my friends old classmates who would smoke and cut himself enough said

Actually…Instead of encouraging those that have not heard or seen the anime version or japanese movie version of the original Death Note, have them watch the Netflix version first. Then go see the original. I want to know their reaction to which is better. Do they think the Netflix is better or the original. Those that have already seen already knows the original is way better. Heck, they did a great job at recreating the Movie version of their own Anime.

From 2009 Dragon Ball Evolution, 2010 Avatar the last airbender, to Ghost in the shell now Death Note!!. STOP Making Legendary Anime look trash in real life adaptation dam! we must stand up for the anime community not to mention the manga/anime artist reputation.

What frustrates me is that L is one of the easiest to cast. He doesn’t even _have_ to be Japanese!L was 1/4 Japanese, 1/4 British, 1/4 Russian, and 1/4 Italian.
This has been confirmed by the creator and can be found on the Death Note’s official page as well as on How to read 13.

For real, instead this kind of lame Death Note, Hollywood and Netflix should just adapt anime-manga series that’s more safe and mainstream western things but still a popular series like:
    Vampire Hunter D
    Trigun
    Monster
    Hellsing
    Claymore
    Berserk
    Guin Saga
    Ergo Proxy
    Vinland Saga
    Jormungand
    Cowboy Bebop
    Appleseed

And there are still many more!

I watched DeathNote for the first time about 1 month or so ago and I LOVED it. Look I can get over the casting choices and all that if they just STICK to the main idea of DeathNote which is it playing more on a psychological level NOT action. So far I don’t like when it was mentioned that Misa seems to be the main player in this, and if I see Light being bullied by jocks and/or cheerleaders (as seen in the first trailer) I won’t be too pleased as that too takes away from the story. They have so much material to go off of and I just hope they follow the main gist.

I’m looking forward to it. I don’t think there’s any reason for someone to be mad if they don’t like it go back to the original. but as for this one I like the direction they’re taking L seems more daring by going out in public as himself. I also feel light will like misa up to the point when he realises he can use her as a pawn. I think this light will be quite similar but still unique in his own way.

  47. India Quijano

From what I see in the trailer the characters personalities are wrong. Misa Amane is a bubbly annoying *BLONDE* girl. from the trailer, she looks somewhat smart and looks like she knows what she’s doing. Light yagami is a extremely smart and calm strawberry brown haired boy. His reaction to Ryuk in the anime/manga was to understandably get shaken, but had an idea of what was going on, once he composed himself. He had a full on conversation with Ryuk. L Lawliet in manga/anime is a somewhat malnourished looking man with large black spiked hair and pail complexion. From the trailer you can obviously see that he is not a pail man, he is black. I don’t have a problem with casting a black man as l Lawliet, but he is a very specifically designed character. And the actor cast for it looks like a healthy well built man. And from the interactions with light we see in the trailer, he gets angry, and said things like" I’m just here to make you burn" what? When l has interactions with people he is suspecting he is smart. He plays it cool and in no way does he burst out like that. Sorry for the super long rant. Have a nice day ppl~❤️
