We’re back with Episode 25 of Neon Genesis Evangelion! In this episode, it’s the beginning of the end as Shinji wrestles with his decision to kill Kaworu, and then all of his decisions. Shinji struggles to learn about himself. Misato struggles to learn about herself (We think), Asuka struggles to learn about herself (We think), Rei seems to know herself (we think), people die and they just kinda glance over it, it’s very confusing!
Nagisa, who immediately hits it off with Shinji. But like all of Shinji’s relationships, it doesn’t work out the way he hoped.

In the early episodes the voice actors started flat. But here in the later episodes they fit much better with the tone. Honestly, the original dub tended to be a little overdramatic at this part. As if they just realized "Wait, we gotta take this shit seriously now?"

I may be a few months late but all of the scenes like with Rei and Gendo talking to each other, will show up again in the Movie when they prepare for instrumentality aka Third Impact, then the scene with the dead Misato and Ritsuko reappears in the End Of Evangelion with Ritsuko shot dead in the pool of LCL after being shot by Gendo then Misato lying dead near a wall with her blood trail running down it after being shot by a JSSDF officer while trying to drag Shinji to the elevators just wanted to point that out they were precursor to the End of Evangelion or a prediction and Asuka and the others telling Shinji "This is the world he created" Is basically in the film where everyone gets turned into LCL and no one is left but Asuka and Shinji.

I feel like even if Kaworu wanted to die, he was the only one who Shinji had an actual genuine, connection with, I think that’s why Shinji can’t get over it. But that’s my opinion.

Shame you’re not watching the sub version 😔
There are some moments that really land in the original but don’t in the dub movie (including some with Asuka)
Don’t worry about your interpretation of this episode, just watch and enjoy(?)
The movie is slightly more pessimistic, the next episode is hopeful and happy ish

Too much of this turns the anime to crap, crap totally. I can’t even express my anger with words after watching e25 and its atrocious as well as pathetic ending. What the fuck is that???
