I just realized.
Ymir came into contact with the source of all organic material when she was 13.
The Curse of Ymir only gives Titan shifters only 13 years to live after inheriting the power.
So in other words Titan shifters lose their lives in 13 years just as Ymir lost her humanity when she was 13.

i think the parasite thing is a good twist in the story. Like the falling into a dark abyssal water is already cliched in most anime/manga tropes, but having a parasite-like thingy in the medieval era? that’s new.
Also I really lvoe the parallelism between Historia and Ymir. Both blonde little girls, both are forced to do something out of their own accord (like being pregnant out of choice). Ymir didn’t made a deal with the devil, she became this thing that the world calls as "Devil", but in truth, the devil one is King Fritz, himself

Hey guys!!! It seems that Isayama-sensei might have been foreshadowing the split of Ymir’s titan to nine in the S2 ending song as well, where Maria, Rose, and Shina are eating Ymir’s body. In addition to 3 girls eating her, essentially to inherit the Titan powers, 7 jars can also be seen in the clip where only 6 are filled with Ymir’s blood and if you can count you know what I mean!!!
Of course, it might not be the case coz sensei always goes beyond everything but I also believe that there’s no other explaination that’s strong enough without giving it prior implication unlike the scene of her three daughters eating her from way back in the second season.
The studio is following a pattern here where they establish a few lies in the ending songs of the other seasons and foreshadows a good amount of truth in it as well… who knows what the ending song from the last season actually hides besides the wars that already happened in the manga.. ✨
however, it’s also important to note that the source and the adaptation might have tendencies to diverge sooooo yeah.. just a reminder..

I think Ymir got the powers because she freed the pig. Think about it- pigs have had a reputation of being filthy. They have an association with poo. She freed the pigs from their fate and was rumored to get her powers from making a deal with the source of all organic matter, or pig shit. Just putting this out there.

Anyone remember Eren was crying in the first chapter and first epsiode of the anime. That’s because Eren probably killed Armin and Mikasa after awakening the wall titans and all the other people he had known . So he was crying over the death of his loved ones.
