I’m actually reading the manga for this right now after having watched the show a few years ago.
You might have filmed this a while ago, but if not I’d probably say watch season 1 (since it’s really good) and then go read all the manga. The later seasons are watchable, but you’ll end up having to google so much stuff that’s only in the manga to understand what’s going on!!

The manga is super good though!

Alright Dean I’m a big fan of Tokyo Ghoul and people have probably already let you know but I wanna say it too. The manga is way better for a reason. The adapted it alright at first, but eventually they skip over too many important things and end the anime in a dumb way that is nothing like the manga. The sequel kept going with it but they already ruined it so people who watch the anime say the other seasons suck. Since you’re gonna read the manga you can go for it any way but as a big fan I can confirm the anime doesn’t go any where. At least it has an amazing OST.

As a tokyo ghoul fan; Just go to the manga; the anime is good at the start at then it skips lots of manga sections and even replaces it with really stupid stuff in a couple spots.

Please, be careful with this show cause it usually causes strikes and copyright sht. A lot of channels had this problem so take the necessary measures for this show. AND as a tokyo ghoul fan I would recommend you to read the manga after season 1. The anime adaptation is one of the worst of the last decade (no joke).

I know a lot of people already said this: Only the first season of the Anime is worth watching, after that it becomes so much worse than the manga

Manga readers will shit on this anime, but, for me, as a anime only, I enjoy all 3 seasons. Season 3 is a bit confusing but it was alright. Season 1 is definitely my favorite. S2 was good too.

You’ve probably heard it a million times already, but I can’t advise you enough to just watch season 1 then go onto the manga.

The anime is great, but it doesn’t truly follow the manga. :re’s animation is kinda bad too, but follows the manga. The manga is just a masterpiece. Have fun with it!

Season 1 is solid, but you should stick to the manga after season 1 in my opinion. They do weird time skip stuff, and leave out a bunch of manga material. You could watch Season 2 because it’s still decent, but things definitely start going downhill from there. The Manga is wayyyyyy better.

like a lot of people here say go to the manga cuz is way better, on the anime they change a lot of things and storyline time and decision making on kaneki’s way to build his own way of see life after being human and ghoul at the same time

I feel like I should clarify some stuff, I don’t think it’s a spoiler because all the context is in this episode. “Rise” (the binge eater) is dead, and Kaneki had a woman’s organs transplanted into him during surgery. While Kaneki was dreaming during surgery, Rise comes up behind him and embraces him in the dream. This is very symbolic. Whoever it was that found Kaneki after he got attacked, that person also found Rise. They both got brought to the hospital, but Rise was already dead. You hear the surgeon say to “use her organ’s” for a transplant surgery. Kaneki didn’t transform because he got bit, he transformed because he has ghoul organs inside of him. It’s been so long since I’ve seen this show, so I don’t remember how much more they clarify what happened in the next few episodes. I just wanted to clarify what happened that way you’re not confused going forward. I’m excited to see you react to the rest of this series. 🙂

I love this. It’s a serious, furious, savage internal struggle of your morals that you just don’t breach because it’s just not what you do, it’s not an option yet the drive that only comes around so often that when you pick up the scent you follow your body reluctantly. Knowing what’s going to happen is so terrifying as it’s completely different and have to be as conscious of your actions as to not lapse into actually doing it.

It’s like when you know your consciousness of the last few seconds blacked out a bit from being so tired, you blip into a time in the future but in this case you lose everything and abandon what you believes makes you human with only the taste of what would be delicious human meat as to ground you in some reality.

I would say it is worth watching all three seasons but pretty much treat it as a different story than the manga which is objectively better

Manga is a must if you want to get the full experience of the story!
The drawings are incredible especially in ;RE so it’s great to see too.
After S1 I’d say read the manga, perhaps you can watch the anime afterward for fun but if you watch the S2-S3 without having read the manga you’ll miss out on a lot and you’ll be confused
