The best thing is that Aragaki’s Gear is not even connected, when they opened you can see that it doesnt have a battery, so he was fighthing with a chunk of heavy metal on his arm

Calebs talk about depression and moving on was a great piece in this discussion and makes this more than worth while watching (if you’re thinking of skipping discussion, don’t) well done Caleb, handling these kinda topics well can be tough, but just like the show you displayed it greatly

It’s quite interesting to hear their theories considering they don’t know the original Ashita no Joe.

Clinching by the by is a boxing term. Basically the opponent grapples the other guy to stall for time. It’s really hard to get the full force of your punches when someone is that close to you. It’s usually mocked as coward move, but can be a viable and legal strategy. In the show Hajime no Ippo, the main character goes up against someone who uses clinches really well. The kid doesn’t have much for muscles so he uses jabs, keeping his distance, and clinching to win via points. And after reading the other comments, I think you guys will get it. -I wasted all this time explaining all of this, I wish I read first, gosh dang it-

Clinching is a boxing term. It’s when you lean on or grab the opponent to keep them from hitting you or to regain your composure or some-such. It’s an unpopular but useful tool, although doing it too long would constitute a Holding Foul. It’s what Joe was doing when the crowd started complaining about them "dancing".

Clinching is that thing Joe did when he was basically hugging Aragaki.

A clinch in boxing is the wrapping of ones arms over the opponents.

This is the episode that put this show above others. Before hand it was a good looking show with good music and an interesting story. But this added so much more on top of all that
