Another silly name explanation: Guf is the Treasury of Souls in the Jewish faith. The Tree of Life from the Garden of Eden generates new souls which fall into Guf. For every child, the Archangel Gabriel reaches into the Chamber of Guf and takes the first soul his hand touches to be delivered to the embryo by Lailah, the Angel of Conception.
The Chamber of Guf being empty heralds the coming of the Messiah and the End of the world, so when Ritsuko drops the line about Guf being empty, that’s essentially the biggest WHAM line in the series.

Actually, the body is a clone,but the spirit is the same.Rei I ‘s spirit got passed down to Rei II after the former’s death, which again got passed down to Rei III after the former’s death.She is the same entity, but her body has been changed. Actually, her spirit is the Spirit of Lilith, the 2nd Angel. Rei returns to Lilith in The End Of Evangelion .

All of these women getting sexually manipulated by Gendo Ikari doesn’t make a lot of sense until you start thinking of Nerv as a doomsday cult which it pretty much is.

Watching the guy on the right tearing up near the end when Ritsuko was crying made me start to tear up. You know things in the show are getting pretty bad when even the comedians start to cry.

If it seems Rei acts differently now it’s because she has her entire soul, she is a complete person
That Halo effect she produced when she blew up is her being reunited with her entire soul bc Unit 0 had a piece of her soul (little girl rei) in it
Going forward that never gets explained…

Ritsuko became so unhinged at the end. When you go back and watch the earlier episodes all the scenes where she interacts with Gendo is strange to watch now. Because now you know they’re dating.

You guys are pretty good at reacting and genuinely really funny to watch but the only issue is the screen, it’s really hard to see what you’re looking at, green screen would be a really good choice
