some
you really did just get knee to the moon
foreign all right let’s pause it
there i love that scene that was
hilarious but i have a bunch of problems with it
so let’s maybe do some calculations for a change
let’s work out how fast must have saitama
been moving to have gone from the moon to
earth as quick as he did how much energy he must
have used and also we could probably work out
how big the crater uh would have been that
would have been left from saitama impacting
the earth at that speed it takes light like 1.3
seconds to go from the moon to earth that means
as you look at the moon at night you’re looking at
it as it was 1.3 seconds ago it’s not an instant
thing you look you’re looking pretty much back
in time but only 1.3 seconds so let’s calculate
all right so we’ve done the calculations so we
worked out how fast cytoma must have been moving
and that works out to be about 45 million miles
per hour so you’re going to have some pretty
serious uh re-entry side effects when you’re
coming into the atmosphere but let’s ignore that
um and because he’s traveling at
6.7 percent the speed of light
means he’ll experience some relativistic effects
right so i’ve had to work out his relativistic
kinetic energy um and that works out to be about
1.44 times 10 to the 16 joules so that’s like 3.44
megatons of tnt which again is enormous which
is also about 215 hiroshima nuclear bombs
and 0.07 za bonds which is the most powerful
nuclear bomb ever and then from that we worked
out how big the crater he would have left on earth
would be and it’s about 570 meters uh the one that
killed all the dinosaurs was about 180
kilometers so it wouldn’t quite wipe out
humanity but it would probably do some damage
so yeah anyway there’s some numbers for uh
saitama’s supposedly immeasurable speed and
power but you know what probably wasn’t even
trying now the other problem i had with that
scene was that saitama had no effects from
being exposed to a vacuum there’s no atmosphere on
the moon right now the scene probably would have
been even more entertaining if they had to take
into a into account science because your skin
your whole body would inflate uh because your
skin is quite elastic there’ll be bubbles forming
in your blood and you’re you’d literally inflate
and look like a balloon animal but you wouldn’t be
dead you’d probably lose consciousness after about
15 seconds as blood stops getting to your brain
but again you wouldn’t die you’d probably
survive about two minutes though there’s a
whole bunch of stuff we could talk about as
to what happens to the human body in space
but i reckon we leave it there and save it for
another video and keep watching some one punch man

uh you really could destroy an asteroid or an
incoming whatever by yes directly hitting it but
there’s another problem that would probably cause
even more damage so let me explain so let’s assume
it’s a big asteroid and most asteroids when they
strike earth hit it at about 17 kilometers per
second so it’s pretty quick and let’s assume
it has about 70 billion kilograms of mass
so if you work out how fast you’d have to be
traveling to disintegrate it like saitama it
comes out to be about 99.979 percent speed of
light i’ve explained in other videos why that
would be pretty hard i think in the dragon ball z1
um but that’s 2.9 meters per second closer to the
speed of light than the protons uh shot at the
lhc it’s not just a single proton being shot to
that speed though like at the lhc it’s a whole
body’s worth which is like 10 to the 28 of them
so at that sort of speed electrons would
get ripped from your body and you’d turn
into a fiery plasma the sunburn you’d get just
from the air molecules alone rushing past you
would be worse than a lethal dose of radiation and
here’s the problem when you finally hit the medial
all your kinetic energy and all the kinetic energy
of the meteor as well as the chemical energy
holding it together has to come out somewhere
all of that energy that it’s moving with has to
go somewhere and it would create a huge explosion
that would probably circle the earth many times so
the impact saitama had with the meteor that
was so close to the city would have destroyed
everything so yeah that’s the problem
i had with that scene but anyway
did you know bananas are actually radioactive
if you ate 10 million bananas at once
you would die from radiation poisoning so it comes
from the isotope potassium 40. it’s radioactive
and bananas are radioactive but yes you should
definitely keep eating them and if you ate i think
it’s like 250 a day for seven years you would
actually experience some radiation poisoning um
i think it exposes you to like one percent of
your daily exposure to the background radiation
which is just like background radiation is all the
natural and artificial radiation around you on a
daily basis but anyway fun fact for you i think
it fits in with the uh i don’t know this show
foreign
in russian definitely doesn’t mean
okay probably fits better as well

because that’s kind of a good analogy of
the real world of science where you’ve got
all the best science being done by these
people who don’t get much credit for it
they don’t get any fame or media spotlight
and then you’ve got other people taking all the
spotlight that really don’t deserve it this guy
but uh i think when the day you know we look at
scientists like uh kim kardashian like our heroes
and you know their they become our role models i
think the future of humanity will be will look a
lot brighter when that day comes but anyway so i
guess i’m just trying to help make that a reality
um you know clearly these videos you’re not
really learning all that much physics or science
but i’m trying to inspire you guys to you
know maybe pursue it yourselves and uh
look differently at science and the people behind
science um yeah i think it’s an important thing
all right that’ll do it i think that’s enough

about saitama fainting on the moon coz how the human body inflates ig u forgot that saitama’s body doesnt even burn when genos incenerates the whole area in ep 2. i have never even seen saitama bleed. so i guess that his body is way way more resistant than u know a normal hero(they are pretty resistant themselves). So i even think he would have survived even though the whole planet gets destroyed by the meteor(as u said)

1. How lucky Saitama was to have hit the moon. From OUR Earth (and the continents are different so the planet shown is not our Earth), the odds of hitting the moon if flung randomly into space is about 1 in 200 thousand.
2. How amazingly good his aim is to have jumped from the moon to the Earth AND land in the same spot within like 100 feet of where Boros was. Even if you were powerful enough to jump from the moon to the Earth, actually jumping to the Earth is one thing, but do you think you would be able to aim for, and land in, your back yard from there?

Mr. Wearsasuitjacketwithshorts, you SHOULD understand that Saitama’s planet is NOT our Earth, you can see the continents are different than Earth’s, so even though they call their planet Earth, it’s not the same planet as Earth. As such, you can’t really assume their moon is the same size, or distance, from their planet as ours is. I also don’t think you can assume that there weren’t cutscenes and that the time in the video it takes Saitama to get to the Earth is the same as the time he actually took. It would be a really boring video if it took him 5 minutes and we just watched Boros standing around twiddling his thumbs for 5 minutes, right? So maybe it did take 5 minutes and we just didn’t see all that waiting in the video.

This guy is really smart, but he’s missing a point. Saitama is no “normal” person. All the effects Dylan put on Saitama is negated because Saitama is a super being. Hell, his normal punches almost rip space and time and cause black holes. You can’t put the same effects that effect a normal human, on a super human like Saitama.

I’m pretty sure 250 banana’s in a day (as they are roughly 120g according to google) would kill you, way before the radiation 7 years later of continuing that will, that’s 30kg. assuming each average banana contains 14.4g of sugar, that’s 3.6kg of sugar. you’re gonna be dead a fair bit before that, or at least a 50/50 chance of death.

There’s another issue with the meteor scene which you haven’t mentioned. If Saitama does jump towards the meteor with enough energy to destroy it, then that would mean we would have pushed against the ground (or the top building he was standing on) with a tremendous amount of force (or total impulse to be more accurate). That impulse would have to be roughly equal to the momentum of the meteor (since it was enough to destroy it). This means that Saitama’s push against the ground would have caused a level of destruction similar to the impact of the meteor itself.

Can you watch Re:Zero? There are a few physical interactions, but to be fair it’s more about the way time works there and just the way main character gets into the other world.
(Main character was compared with Bruce Lee somewhere, so it is interesting to compare normal limits and how strong character should be in our world. Also certain powers can be questioned.)

With the first one, I don’t think that any of this is lost with most people. Of course, it’s impossible to jump from the moon back to earth (or whatever planet this story is from) at the speed that Saitama does it. However, this is from a manga that uses comedy to great effect, and this scene is not only impossible but it’s also pungently ironic and funny. Also, Saitama survived being kneed to the moon, so him not being so affected by the lack of atmosphere on the moon sort of pales in comparison with the way he got there.
With the second one, it is THE PUNCH that destroys the meteor. It’s all about Saitama’s PUNCH that does nearly everything that is amazing about him. With that in mind, of course, he can one-punch a meteor the size of a small mountain into millions of bits. The rest of it: PLOT ARMOR!
Here’s something that I found about “sokka”: “Soka” or “Sokka” are generally colloquial pronunciations of “Sou ka”, or more politely “Sou desu ka”. It generally means something like “oh, is that so?” but in certain contexts can be kind of like “Oh I see.” or “Oh I get it!”, or, “That’s how it is, huh?” So, it fits perfectly in context.

However it seems Saitama landed on the space ship when he returns… he never actually hits the earth. (obvious interactions with the atmosphere aside), that ship took its own barrage of weapons fire that can knock out a city like that without trying, has had most of its interior and exterior raked with explosions and demolition of internal structures… and the thing is still floating up there at this point. Clearly there’s some shenanigans at work related to inertia and kinetic energy interactions to consider as to why his landing/impact did not have a more crater-inducing effect on the planet which never actually got struck due to this?

He said そうか「Souka」Which is a casual way of saying “I see.” It can also be translated as ok as it is here. The polite way that you’ll normally hear real Japanese people use is そうです「Sou desu」Adding desu at the end of a sentence in Japanese is one of the ways to make the sentence polite.

in the meteor scene, I think it was not THE SPEED of Saitama that destroyed the asteroids BUT SPEED+STRENGHT so is assumable that he wasn’t travelling at light speed if you take that in account (yeah i know that N= m*a and joule is N*mtrs)

I noticed you spell your name the same way I do, the traditional way “Dylan”. Yesterday the guy who called me up for my order at Taco Bell was a black dude who pronounced it like a newschool black name, he kept yelling “Da-lanni!” or something, he kept changing it to something blacker everytime lol. It reminded me of Key and Peele’s substitute teacher skit, which is halarious if you haven’t seen it, it’s probably their most well-known skit. Anyways I corrected him and made a joke about it and we both laughed and had a fun time with it. I don’t know why people, especially overly pc people, can’t embrace the fact that we do have some differences but that’s okay, in fact it’s a good thing. “Variety is the spice of life”. It would be pretty boring if everyone was the same and human advancement would have occured at a crawling speed comparably as a result.

I mean you are trying to use physics to explain a guy who is pretty much invincible…. I love the video but it seems to be missing a lot of different details, like when he talks about the crater saitama would have left? I mean he landed on an alien spaceship that couldn’t be taken down until the sphere inside broke, and mind you we don’t know what the ship is made out of. Also when he talks about Saitama experiencing the vacuum, he’s not a normal human (obviously) things don’t seem to affect him the same. So I guess the whole point is kinda lost in rambling to me.

The problem with all these types of videos is that they fall into one of about 3 types. This falls under the science taken literally and all equations are based on such a person not existing in reality. Because of this, their calculations may be correct but are completely missing the in world components. For example, he talks about the re entry impact from landing on earth. Valid point, but completely ignores the fact that he lands on the alien ship which is massive in size, has nigh indestructible armor, and dismisses the possibility that Saitama himself may have reduced his speed before impact. This just covers that one specific scene. He ignores Saitama’s extreme damage resistance in general before the being hit into space and more. So, when comparing such a character with real science, you have to bring in the characters world. I mean they have a super hero society and these people are common in general. So not unlike the xmen’s world with mutants being common. So, yeah, need all the context to make these videos which once again, they donot ever do.

Funny thing is, whether it’s funny or not, somebody actually did Saitama’s training routine.
The idea of it is funny, but the result may be lethal… the sad part was that Saitama was serious, that was all he did and it somehow made him strong in the story.

не совсем точно, суть то в том, что кратер на луне как раз соответсвует его массе и силе толчка, а вот, вернувшись на землю, он не уничтожил ничего, потому что приземлился на инопланетный корабль, который сделан из черт знает какого сплава и висит на большой высоте. Его даже частично сбить не могли, а Сайтама накренил, что как бы намекает, что если бы Сайтама приземлился не на супер корабль, он бы разрушил пол планеты. Не раздулся же он в вакуме по простой причине, прочность его тела не соотвествует даже космическим стандартам, как и было в манге, и по хорошему, он, затаив дыхание, должен был разорвать себе легкие, но он настолько крепкий, что даже не замечает воздействия вакума, что еще раз подчеркивает его силу. Вот если бы беспечный ездок попал бы в вакум во вселенной Сайтамы, его бы точно раздуло, разорвало и заморозило бы.

sokka in japanese is usually read as ‘I see’ but it’s more just to acknowledge something has been said. The usage in the scene (11:16) to represent ‘ok’ but in a stale way is similar which is why it was translated that way.
