Especially the fact that he defended his fleet single-handedly to allow them to escape — literally holding a line so that the future generation of pirates/free fighters could live.
Whitebeard will always be one of my all time favourite One Piece characters…

It’s been 5 years since I first saw this AMV and its 2018 now but I still like this, this is the best AMV for me it’s like watching the whole marine ford (arc) war in 4:54 minutes (it’s my favorite arc)

This amv is just beautiful. I love how this song is portrayed perfectly with the Battle of the Best at Marine Ford; it was the Marines against White Beards entire crew and allies. All to save their brother Ace.
There were also so many comparisons between the song and what was going on and it fit everyone.

It just kind of occurred to me how much better One Piece was before the timeskip. Where are these characters now? Where are all the epic fights? Where’s the history? Instead we get these massive multi-year arcs of new characters that never really go anywhere.

This song totally fits the story arc of one piece, its war and even though they lost Ace and White Beard, making sure Luffy lived is still a win. Plus the line "A brave new world" does sum it up to Luffy going into the New World afterwards
