I agree with you Brandon, the Ost is one of the best this season, it’s one of the main things I noticed while watching. I feel this one has lots of potential.

The art style has that retro 90s early 2000s vibe but the quality of it is like top budged anime movie. It seems like the painful story. The main character was conflicted with His actual felling vs His duty on how he should proceed. While his love interest in her metal state still was sane enough not to cause him pain and killer her self. This will a serious one. Don’t even get me started on the ED song.

I’ll say one thing that ending song is one of the top ones that have aired this season along with Moriarity.
I would have hoped that you would do a review od this and you actually done it. It is high quality almost moviesc. I was very impressed with this ep and this is based off a manga I think I’ve read somewhere.
Like you said there are a lot of originals this season but also I haven’t come up against a show that I would say this doesn’t have potential at least for the first ep. We still have a bunch more of the ones I’m looking forward to air but so far I’ve been impressed how good this season is becoming.
On the show, I liked how everything was directed and the diologue was very intriguing from the commander with everyone he went up to. I wonder how will future eps go?
Btw… Will you be reviewing the next ep of Moriarity and last weeks sinve you didn’t do a review for it then?

Hyde is a dinosaur at this point (love you HYDE! L”arc~en~Ciel forever!) but I think Storyseeker by Stereo Dive Foundation (TenSura S2 ED) is pretty catchy

I really like the art style of this show. As others have said, the soundtrack really stands out, and with just the superficial details such as those two already being of movie quality, I can definitely see it becoming one of this season’s dark horses. I’m intrigued so far, let’s see where it goes from here.

the vampire was the mc’s soon to be wife that he never met proof being when the mc went to the stage look at his reaction when the blonde guy talks about the girl wishing her soon to be husband would come watch. also the end where she said’ ive longed to met you and that you were exactly how i imagined . in the end i wanted to kiss u ” there’s also his reaction to when she opened her mouth he hesitated to grab his sword and the convo with the guy in charge when he said youll have to kill her if she becomes a threat the way he reacted shows he didn’t want to because he knew she was his soon to be wife

I think the actress was the fiancé he hadn’t met yet with how she burns after saying she’s glad she got to meet him and wishes she could have kissed him in the end like those specific lines (from the play i’m assuming) are directed at him? or maybe he’s just emotional at the fact that she seemed like a good person losing control and he wanted to save her.

I was very intrigued. The direction and art style was very unique. Really loved the OST. There was an elegance to how it was presented that I enjoyed. It’ll be interesting to see what happens next!

I watched the first episode just for the art style and it looks really interesting, I hope it becomes the decadance of this season (start with a simple plot and suddendly gives you an amazing story). I expected a bit more of action but thats problably my “shonen mind”.
Im pretty sure that the vampire girl was his fiancee and the ending scenes was more than she just reading the script.

No kidding as a first episode this one is unbelievably good… literally scared right now about whether it can keep it up for the rest 12 episodes.

I knew that animation style looked kind of familiar. Maeda is definitely someone to keep an eye on with how his feelings may change, it seems. The world building. The audio. That ending theme though. Idk why but I even thought the eyes were good. Either that or I just like the way the eyes were drawn this episode since it reminded me of Demon Slayer, haha. All in all though this and Vivy just had stunningly good debuts, and ya love to see it.

I know it likely won’t live up to last season in hype but there are so many new anime that look extremely promising and when added onto the return of MHA, Fruits Basket, Megalobox, Zombieland Saga, and more, this season is looking mighty fine too.

Not sure how many picked up on it but the actress turned vampire was the fiance that he hadn’t met. It was subtle but really makes the climax of the episode very impactful and extremely tragic.

Well, here for another one! As they say. Interesting, really interesting, old school animation, amazing voices, and the choice end a life that should have ended. Huge ethical points to discuss about her decision. I think quite obviously the blond guy transformed her, probbably a very old night creature as they say and I’m looking forward to see how it develops. I hope the quality of the story doesn’t disappoint, cheap turns might damage it very hard. I in a middle hype state now.

I feel like she was trying to communicate but lacked the capacity to as a vampire. It may be that only a few are able to do so. I also wouldn’t be surprised if the ‘boy’ actor the mc talked to, was one as well (or even that he turned her if he is).

I hate how saturated the vampire genre is, because they are probably my favorite of the monsters, definitely if we only include the more-traditional monsters. They carry implications that few others do, namely the fact that vampires almost always are made, and not born. The loss of humanity is a trait that, to my knowledge, is shared only by werewolves and other types of lycans, and even then, not to the same extreme as vampires. Vampires cannot turn their “monster” off like a lycan can, and their weaknesses preclude them from normal society even more than lycanthropy does. In mpy opinion, vampires are probably the best monsters for psychological fiction, or one of the best, depending on the kind of story, and psychological stories are my favorite. Is one reason Shiki lives in my memory rent-free, despite some of the issues it has.

My favorite anime is Hellsing. With Vampires working for the government it almost feels like I get to re-watch Hellsing again. This show sure is a surprise and a welcome one at that.

If I am not mistaken, this is anime adapts a stage play. That’s the main reason for this theatrical aspect to it.

I really liked how little exposition there was in this episode. You just get thrown into this world and have to just figure it out. Super refreshing. Also, I love how freaking overpowered/terrifying they made the vampires seem. I think the stakes will be super high in the show, which has me very excited.

This is just a random thought I had but after watching it I had a feeling like the vampire was his fiancé (I’m probably going to be wrong by the next episode though)

Pluses I agree with you that most vampire shows are almost all the same and Mars Red had a different feel to it. I enjoyed the first episode and would like to see where they go
