The ‘foot umbrella’ is a yokai called Karakasaobake. It’s in a group of yokai called ‘tsukumogami’ which are objects who gain sentience, mobility and power after 100 years of service.

I started watching this after founding out that the voice actor for Goku is the voice actor for the eyeball dad 😛

this is actually the 6th series of gegege no kitaro the first series is aired on 1968 , i’ve already watched the 4th series when i was a kid and become one of my favorite anime.

I love finding new reaction channels like yours! Also, that foot umbrella in the ending is a type of yokai. Items that end up neglected for roughly a century get taken over by evil spirits and gain a large eye and long tounge. It has a single foot because umbrellas have one handle. That’s the rough backstory on it I believe.

2:02 Not exactly at YouTubers in general (if we’re really being specific Logan Paul and his entourage from his Japan vlogd, since they behaved like that in the Shibuya scramble crossing, just like Charatomi does), but it’s more about the message Oyagi ("Daddy Eyeball") tells Mana. It’s a metaphor for how social media has been known to bring us together, while simultaneously bringing out the worst in all of us. I loved your reactions. I’m going around to virtually every reaction video to see what people think of my childhood Anime, and it’s great.
We’re quick to pull out our phones. The reason why people weren’t running is because they wanted to take pictures of what was happening. They showed no emotion, and all they wanted to do was take pictures and share something supernatural that people didn’t get to see. They’re using satire to show us who we are as humans living in the modern day century!
Many newcomers wonder how Kitaro’s father can be an eyeball. They might go over some of the backstory later, but it’s briefly shown how in the opening at 0:57 of your video. I can explain more if you’d like, or you can wait to see if they’ll go over it again in this adaption!
At 12:00, you saw a friendly Yokai. They may introduce him later on, but you can also see him in the opening, sitting on the roof at 1:17 of your video. 🙂
Remote-Controlled Geta: Geta is what you call the type of shoes Kitaro’s wearing.
I also loved how this adaption ended the episode. The previous adaptions usually concluded well, but the 2018 is bringing in cliffhangers. Even the old fans are left wondering who shot Kitaro, since it might be a new antagonist, although it looks vaguely similar to a character from the 4th adaption. Who knows for sure? The guy was also in the opening, too, behind Mana in one of the scenes.

Idk if you’re into Tokyo ghoul or not, but the new season just started yesterday. So if you haven’t seen the 1st season yet, I reccomend it 100% 🙂 then you could do weekly reactions like with dbs 😉
