I spilled my coffee there.

im a pretty ok player, and ik most of these things, but just watching the situations on screen, and then hearing someone break them down was like the 0.5 second dialogue i have in my head, while shit is going on in the game, slowed down x1000 so i have time to think about it and realize, one of my toughest matchups who i have been slowly getting better at fighting, goes over head way too much, using double jump float, late Jump H/L and i just figured, dashing up under the double jump n timing my 2h abd call assist would smoke him every time. So i dint expect to learn anything new i jst needed that frame of mind and i think ill do better next time we fight! Good vid

This is a good basic guide imo certain mechanics in this game are too strong for you to punish or play around consistently so at High level this really limits what you can do. These are raw tag, snap, auto combo and super dash.

Much appreciated guide, even if it acts as a reminder of how overwhelmingly strong and unfun superdash is to deal with.

The advice you give in this video is pure gold! I’m fairly new to dbfz and fighting games in general and I’ve reached a point where I need to step up my game and learning neutral is essential. Things I noticed are I superdash way too often (though I mostly go unpunished), don’t use assists enough and I usually don’t punish my opponents even when I recognize their patterns.
I’ll definitely check out superdash101 as well!
Also, how do you have so few subs!?

There is no neutral when you literally have a blow up neutral button ??? that being superdash

Thanks now I know how to play those fuckers that’s always just jump back or jump after they do a block string or jump up after being comboed.

Yes . This topic is the main problem for low level dbfz . A lot of lower level players don’t play neutral because they’re new to fighting games and super dash rewards spam (at lower level)

Just keep back jump till your opponent throws out something negative. Then rely on your huge 5L hit box to win you the game.

Great video, lots of important “think about your options” talk. There’s one thing though I noticed from this video and every other neutral video that I was hoping you could address. People mention super jump, and super jump float as great options for avoiding assists, creating space, staying safe etc. But no one has gone over counter measures. Imo super jump is the most powerful movement option in the game, and it makes sense as to why. That said I’d like to see what you can come up with on countering excessive super jumping in neutral as it’s something that makes you feel like playing the game without a beam or anti air assist like you’re playing at a big disadvantage.

I was saying the same thing to a friend about the rock/paper/scissors analogy.
This game is full of little mind games everywhere BUT, you have to recognize them and know all the options if you want to take advantage of these.

I’ve been playing fighting games with my wife for years and most of her frustrations come from not understanding neutral. And when i try to explain it i do it poorly. But you saying "Think about what you’re doing and what can beat it" helped honestly more than anything i’ve ever said lol
