I admit, I also wanted Eri to save Nighteye. But people gotta stop thinking of Eri as a mcguffin to resolve problems. That’s pretty much what Overhaul thought of her, and took it to the extreme. Sure, her quirk is awesome and once she learns to control it she’ll be an excellent healer, but the heroes can’t just carry her around and use her like some pokemon HP restore potion 😛

Eri can´t get of his back. Deku tied her to his back with the cape so she wouldn´t fall while he was fighting Overhaul =P
Also she couldn´t heal Nighteye. She was Unconcious and terribly feverish. Plus she is 6 years and doesn´t know how to use her quirk. Can´t do much about anything in that state.

I know everyone wants Eri to be Orihime from ‘BLEACH’, but she can’t control her quirk… at all.
Going forward, maybe she gets control ?‍♂️

I’m sure you already been told in the comments but Overhaul needs his hands to activate his quirk. He still has it he just can’t use it anymore.

Eri only rewinds humans… not quirk. All Might was born quirkless and was given One for All.

Overhaul needs to physically touch WITH HIS BARE HANDS objects and people to break them down and reassemble. They removed both his hands so now he is worthless.

Just as a heads up, the dub just got delayed by a week again (the Japanese version is running close to their own deadlines, which is slowing how soon Funimation gets stuff for the dub).

Eri didn’t heal Nighteye (or rather couldn’t even attempt to heal Nighteye), because, as Eraser Head said, she was still unconscious and feverish.

Chisaki technically needs hands to use Overhaul, to touch something with all 5 fingers.

Overhaul needs his hands to use his quirk. It’s like how Bakugo can only make explosions from his hands, and Ida and his brother need their legs for their engines. Tensei (Ida’s brother) became disabled after fighting Stain so he practically lost his quirk. Compress took Chisaki’s left arm and then Shigaraki decayed his right arm and cut it off. Now he has no hands and can’t use his quirk. Brutal

Just for some clarification; Midoria was breaking his bones. Eri was just rewinding him so fast that he didn’t feel the effects of it. Also I personally believe that Izuku didn’t change future, it was Eri and her quirk. If Eri had not been there, Izuku would have died. Also Eri is soo young, no one ever taught her how to control her quirk, she couldn’t have saved Nighteye even if she had been awake…

They didn’t use the serum on Overhaul because they didn’t need to. Overhaul can’t use his quirk without his hands. So Shigaraki basically rendered him powerless *without* needing to waste a bullet, while stealing Overhaul’s life’s work in the process.

  20. adriannngp2012
    February 10, 2020 @ 2:34 am

So about the bullets being with the cops, Nighteye agency did gather intel about them developing quirk erasing bullets that would last for a couple hours but no one knew about the real operation of Chizaki, even Shigaraki had to cooperate to hear his major plan of developing permanent quirk erasers, no one but the clan and Shigaraki knew about the value of those bullets.

Overhaul had the bullets in his pockets. No one (barring Nighteye and Mirio who were unconscious) knew he had them until after he was already in the vehicle, moments before Shigaraki attacked.

So I know why some people are confused by overhaul while at times during his fight it seemed he didn’t have arms it was always after he initiated his quirk with his hands that’s why he wore gloves to not accidentally trigger it so without the use of his hands he’s essentially quirkless

They never shot overhaul with a round. Since overhaul needs his hands to activate his quirk, losing both of them renders his quirk unusable.

Overhaul’s power only works if his organic hands are touching something hence why he made the quirk bullets as a result of his power. If his hands are removed to prevent the decay from spreading it equals no more quirk. Also coupled with overhaul’s germ phobia it destroyed him mentally. And the sand hero snatch didn’t make it.

Overhaul’s quirk isn’t gone. It’s still there and he can use it, but in a slightly different application than his hands. Shiggy didn’t take the quirk away. He just thought that dusting his arms would make him quirkless (but that technically isn’t how it works).

  36. Ratchetfan321
    February 10, 2020 @ 2:55 am

Overhaul mentioned that Eri has no control of her quirk.
At the moment Eri can’t help no one as Eri doesn’t know how to control her quirk. She never was given the opportunity to learn her quirk after every she went through.
As a manga reader, I won’t spoile but I will say this… so far Horikoshi has not made any plot device. So your speculation about how Eri can heal people is a bit far fetch… look at Recovery Girl… her quirk uses the person life force to heal them… which means she’s actually killing them to heal their wounds. Also means that with fatal wounds… the person life force is low. So having Eri being plot device of healing everyone without any stipulation is bad writing especially the fact that Horikoshi had made every single people have conditions and limits. So why wouldn’t there be a draw back witb Eri? What are Eri’s limits… right now she won’t have control of her quirk because of her mental trauma… she accidentally killed her father by erasing him out of existence, her mom abandoned her, then Overhaul been abusing her for her power turning her into bullets… he kills her, take pieces of her to turn into bullets and bring her back… after years of that… she’s mentally traumatized. That’s too much for a 7 year old girl who beem through a lot to suddenly learn how to control her quirk… this may ne a shonen but Horikoshi has twisted a lot of the classic Shonen troupe. That’s his writing.

Now Overhaul needs his hands to use his quirk. No hands means he can’t activate his quirk. He wear gloves because he’s a germophobe and contact with people breaks him out. Haven’t you noticed he broke out in hives after Shigaraki touched him.

Also this is my biggest gripe… now Horikoshi is the author of MHA… Studio Bones just making the adaptation. So when people say writers… it baffles me. That’s just me… but this part was already set and yeah it wasn’t smart to have the bullets near Overhaul… but the cops wouldn’t know the Leauge is after the bullets… they do know the Leauge was there and betrayed them but that’s all… also remember Toga and Twice got info… moreso Twice as the cops never seen his actually face. Twice is the only member who can walk around in public without a mask and not get chased by the police.

I don’t think Mirio needs a qurick to be an amazing hero. A hero can sometimes just be someone who is there for people, he will be the inspiration to so many heros. I kind of hope he becomes a teacher at the school

As I’m sure others have mentioned, Overhaul, as far as we know, needs his hands to activate his Quirk, much like Eraserhead needs his eyes to look at his target. Now that the League of Villains has destroyed both of his arms, he’s effectively Quirkless.

As for the lack of security around Overhaul, I imagine it’s a combination of 1) most if not all of the heroes being either busy or injured, and 2) it’s the same logic when moving nuclear warheads or other high security/dangerous materials: the lack of security is its own form of security. In theory, nobody pays attention to it, as opposed to drawing attention to it with tons of security.. It didn’t work in this case because the League of Villains had people on the scene, who could the rest of the League members what road Overhaul would be taken on.

And Eri…yes, they could have, in theory, tried to use her Quirk to heal Nighteye. But she’s unconscious, feverish, has no control over her power, and is deeply traumatized; the odds of her succeeding were, in my estimation, very low anyway. And if she tried and failed, and Nighteye lost his life, would you really want to put the burden of that guilt on her, on top everything else that has happened to her?

While I’m sad that Nighteye died, at least he died with a smile, at peace and hopeful for the future, for the first time in a very long time.

And for Overhaul’s quirk, he always needs at least one hand intact before he initiates a disassembly. We’ve seen even when he regenerated his whole body he had one arm still remaining.
