Here is my live reaction to My Hero Academia Chapter 241!
It feels good to be back with Class 1-A. I loved the arc with our villains but I missed Deku and company. So it looks like we are about to be getting another internship arc. Now that Todoroki and Bakugo have their licenses, they can participate. Can’t wait to see where this arc goes and what Chapter 242 will show us.

I didn’t like the direction Shoto’s character is going, i mean… he’s been awkward sometimes, never looked like a total robot detached from human reality. Bakugo’s personality/growth is suddenly back to square one for whatever reason. Momo was having a real hard time building up her confidence not long ago and all of a sudden she’s bursting with it (ego tripping?)…. What’s happened with 1-A?!

Like a good fun before the storm but look like the storm is gonna hit very soon with this new internship arc. Maybe Denki foreshadowing he will paired with hero from L-army? And what about Tokoyami who used to go with Hawks? intriguing stuffs.

Btw if anyone wants to know what Midnight’s original costume looked like, check out the Vigilantes spin off. This costume was made before there were laws put into place regarding how much skin could be shown with costumes

Everyone here wanting Deku or Bakugo to go in an intership with Mirko, but i personally want more to see my boy Ojiro training with her, he really needs to improve his fighting style if he wants to keep up with the class.
But most likely nobody is gonna have an intership with her since she hates teamwork.

I wonder if Deku can be cheeky with that small portion of the whip that comes out before evaporating. He could pull a Dio. Punch somebody and jam that small whip in their eye before following through on the punch.

I like the villains,but is so good to be back with the kids, and with dicho a funny and interesting chapter with how Horikoshi writes the influence of the media and Toshinori researching about the predecessors of OFA. I think that this arc with interships will have the focus on Deku,Todoroki,Bakugou,Iida,Momo,Ochako, Tokoyami and Kirishima given that they had more exposure un this first chapter but Who knows

have no idea where this internship arc is going to. if anything, I think a few high-end nomu will show up and test the pros/students, but I think the PNF will lay low, aquire more recourses, and have shigaraki get accustomed to this "power" the doctor will give him. looking forward to seeing deku unlock that door haha.
also predicting hawk’s death this arc lmao.

So a second internship arc wondering if this will be the same length as Overhaul, would be a nice parallel to the manga. Would love to see where *everyone* ends up from what I can tell Shoto will definitely go to Endeavor
Bakugo can’t go to best jeanist maybe Endeavor as well or one of the top 10 we don’t know much about Deku might do the same, I want some like Kami woods taken him on because of him and not because of who his mentor is (Gran Torino and Nighteye took him on because of All Might let’s change it up)
This new arc could just have the same 1-A gang dealing with day to day heroics before Shigarki launches an attack (maybe a high end nomu on a city again)

So, a theory just occurred to me. Why is Deku the first successor of One for All to be able to use the stored Quirks? Now, we could say that it’s because he’s the protagonist, but that’s not satisfactory (as right as it may be). So, I want to go a little more in depth.
So, what do we know about One for All? Well, we know
1) One for All builds up energy exponentially.
2) That energy is by default released through boosting physical strength.
3) One for All stores the personalities and Quirks of the previous users inside itself.
So far, the only explanation we have as to why Deku can use the previous Quirks is that One for All has “finally accumulated enough energy to reach a singularity.” But more energy doesn’t really mean more Quirks, doesn’t it?
So finally, we get to my theory. The Quirks of the previous users of One for All aren’t stored as complete Quirks. They’re stored as *blueprints.* And it takes a large chunk of the energy OfA uses to power the super strength to forcibly install one of these Quirks into your body.
We know that Nana received a vision saying that OfA wasn’t “ready.” This could be because she simply didn’t have enough energy to give herself more Quirks, or perhaps she could have but it would have drained so much energy that she would nearly lose the super strength, and it would take another half dozen holders to build up the energy to do it again.
In the next generation, we have All Might. Now, All Might never receives such a vision. However, we do know that All Might was miraculously compatible with OfA, able to use 100% of his super strength with little backlash. All Might led a long and very busy career of stopping villainy with overwhelming power, so I think All Might was draining the energy reserves so hard that the energy buildup while he was using it was very slow, nor did he ever show signs of needing more power than that.
And finally we have Deku. The ninth holder of OfA and the first to experience the “singularity.” He receives all the energy that All Might built up, but this time he isn’t a physical prodigy and can’t afford to constantly drain the reserves at full strength like a thirsty elephant. The energy continues to build up like it did before All Might slowed it down, and finally there is enough energy in stock not only to install more Quirks but to have enough left behind for lots of super strength and for the very next holder to have enough energy to do the same. The “singularity” is when the exponential accumulation of energy has reached a rate so fast that it can install the other Quirks in its user at a respectable rate, maybe even once a year or faster. So, Deku has Black Whip installed in him by One for All, and he discovers it in the training exercise. Right now, Deku only has two Quirks: One for All, and Black Whip, and it will take some time for him to awaken another one.
As for why he awakens Black Whip during his training? My theory for *that* is that Deku actually acquired Black Whip all the way back during the stimulus of his final showdown with Overhaul, and it’s just the nature of Black Whip to lash out at inconvenient times when left unused for too long.
Either way, if what I say here turns out to be true, then it’s possible that these extra Quirks will even stay behind even when One for All has already been passed on, among many other possibilities. Not to mention that the fact Deku can do this would make a lot more sense.

I’m happy our heroes are back and going back into internships for more experience and adventure but this chapter has me scared… I’m happy to see Deku having gear and trained his black whip and All Might doing such hard study and time to help young Midoriya. Researching and putting together a book of One For All to help him grow, his triangle face is hilarious.
Now to my point, I believe that book is going to help Deku out ALOT if it really contains info on the past users but what if someone like an enemy or even one of his classmates/teachers reading it and putting the dots together about the secret between All Might and Midoriya. This might cause tension between Midoriya and the entire school because alot of people (specifically the media) will blame Midoriya for All Might’s retirement. I hope Deku will learn new powers but also overcome not just evil but the flaws of society that will challenge him.

Things that caught my attention:
– That AM notebook is really ominous. It feels a lot like a will, as if AM fears he won’t be around for long.
– Both Uraraka and Shoto were shown to be paying special attention when Deku was using the blackwhip. As if they are both trying to figure out his secret now.
So I wouldn’t be surprised if this arc either has something bad happen to AM or Deku’s secret being further exposed.

I didn’t catch that Denki scene on my read through, so good catch. And yeah, we’re definitely being trolled in some way by it; not sure if it’s a red herring or a non too subtle hint.
I’m really curious to see who our heroes in training with be interning with. Deku feels like the trickiest one to place. What other heroes know about his connection to All Might? Not to mention him developing extra Quirks. His situation is very complicated, and I’m looking forward to seeing who he ends up with, along with the rest of Class 1-A.

This chapter was so fun after My Villian Academia, personal Deku’s interview had me dying laughing. So hyped for new internships. I could see Bakugo and Todoroki together under Endeavor or Bakugo with Miruko. Not sure about Deku though.

I thought this was a great little breather for all the insanity we got the past few weeks. I like these little tidbits we get to flesh out the world. Let’s see what we’ll get for our next villains. And some backstory to the other users of One for All. Though, even right now with Shigiraki’s army, I still think 100% Deku would beat them all in a fight. Hoping he gets a wider range of quirks other then super strength and tendrils. Like surveillance quirks, though not as good as Shoji’s or some of the other classmates.

We are back with our heroes and it feels so good! This was a fun chapter and I can’t wait to see how these new round of internships happen. Now that Todoroki and Bakugo have their licenses we can see them in action!! But what was Denki doing this chapter?! Can’t wait for Chapter 242 next week!!

Even if Kaminari knows and even follows the ideals of the Liberation Army, It is still not sure if he is the traitor, because the traitor was in direct contact with the League or at least with Sensei and in those days Shigaraki and his group haven’t encounter the LA yet.

With Todoroki being with Endeavour again maybe we might finally get that Dabi absolutely confirmed reveal. Makes a lot of sense for all 3 of them to be together somehow when it’s revealed. Definitely going to be some awesome character development for all three when it happens
