HANEBADO! Episode 1 HANEBADO HYPE! A seinen Badminton anime…yes please! I’m hoping this series will be as engaging/refreshing as it sounds (I can always use new captivating sports anime in my life). Between this and Harukana Receive all my summer thirst is being quenched. As long as LIDENFILMS goes in with the animation, the characters/narrative are strong and they delve into the intricacies of badminton I have high hopes for this series.

Summary:
Ayano Hanesaki, a first-year student at Kanagawa Prefectural Kitakomachi High School, has a badminton ability able to surpass others effortlessly yet avoids playing the sport. She meets Nagisa Aragaki, a third-year student who practices day and night aiming to become the best player in Japan. Encouraged by coach Tachibana Kentarou, supported by club colleagues, and fired up by various rivals, the two engage in their youth and adored sport so thrilling like a shuttle flown at high speed!

I used to play badminton for fun when i was a kid. They took badminton and made it exciting.
My favorite premiere thus far…the animations during matches were CLEAN.

It seems like the anime is going to deviate pretty far from the manga, which is good in my opinion. The manga is pretty basic in my opinion, the characters are shallow and the plot is fairly cookie cutter, and I think the further from it the anime gets the more chances it has for being better.

Nice animation for the opening match. Also liking the character animation, story and direction. I’ve read that this episode is different from the manga’s first chapter but for the better.

If you love drama then the anime version is better but if you don’t then the manga version is better.
Here a little summary of manga version.
-Nagisa and Riko didn’t realize if Ayano is the one who beat Nagisa until Nagisa and Ayano had a match.
-Tennis club, match, and the handsome guy didn’t exist.
-Ayano, Elena, and Noriko already made friends.
-Elena didn’t know if Ayano can play badminton.
-The coach appeared in badminton club with Nagisa rejected him as a coach, it’s happened with comedic plot not drama.
-The coach found out Ayano talents when she climbed a tree to get a handkerchief.

I like the characters and the animations so i will watch it till the end.
