It was amazing, When i finished it I wanted more.
I just hope the switch version gets the extra’s from the 3ds version and the gameplay/graphics from the ps4 version.

i bought this game and i played through it and I was NOT impressed… It was a terrible game with the worst writing ive seen in a very long time. The gameplay is shallow and even though you got the ability to jump every object in the entire game is surrounded by an invisible wall so you cannot jump over shit… The characters was not likeable at all very unimpressive. To me it seems that Japan is miles behind when it comes to build games.
PS : I still play Dragon Quest 8 to this day and That is one of my fav rpg’s. This new game is dogshit compared to it.

I finished it after 75 hours and i do have some issues with it’s story, i really liked it. The game didn’t really get super interesting to me until about 20+ hours. Deffinetly worth a buy.

I like it a lot. I would of liked too see more player choice decisions in the dialogue especially since your a silent protagonist but definitely loving it. Not too far into it definitely taking my time

The game is nice and I’ve been enjoying a lot, but one thing that is frustrating me is Why can’t I kill anything? It’s like, what is the point in defeating someone if you don’t kill them in the end, it’s stupid.

This is the easiest RPG ive ever played…. worst soundtrack ive heard, literally muted just the music from the game about 1/2 way thru…cant do it the game characters are very feminine 》especially the "men". This is a kids game, kids that still watch cartoons and sucks their thumb

Lmao, Toriyama made these characters? That’s hilarious! I was actually thinking that the swordsman looked too much like Trunks and that other dude looks like a character in SSGSS mode. That dragon also looks like the Rex that chases around young Gohan! Damn, I gotta play this even though I don’t know what DQ is.

Does this game feature a silent protagonist? Only other DQ game I’ve played was 8 so I’m not sure if that’s a usual theme in the series.

This is a fucking AMAZING game. I’ve been using the free form, but… you make me want to try the classic style. I’ve only ever played #8 and when I did for the first time, that classic was a little "woah, this is weird" but I grew to love it so much. Don’t know why but I didn’t think to use it in #11. Will def do tomorrow when I play again. 🙂
Btw, "don’t count single player games out yet": what do you mean by YET? Is there some conspiracy to destroy them? Because I’ll fight y’all. Don’t doubt it.

I Never liked Dragon Quest more than final Fantasy but since the last ff Games where Hot garbage (cause i dont like the writing and Battle systems) i now like Dragon Quest more.
But persona 5 stays my favorite.

I’ve never been so ambivalent about the critical response to a game. Everyone seems to like it, and I can see why, but I can’t help but think that what other people consider to be ‘classic’, I would consider to be ‘generic’, that what other people consider to be ‘charming’, I would consider to be ‘bland’, that what other people consider to be ‘old school JRPG gameplay’ I would consider to be ‘boring as hell’. Or maybe I’d love it. I honestly don’t know. And I can’t afford to buy games that I might dislike these days.

I’m about 35 hours in and I love it. My only complaint is the silent protagonist. I think that there was no reason to not give the main character dialogue as this is not a game where the player has any options in creating the character.
Other than that, it’s just about flawless.

The music is well composed, but I hate that they went with the 16-bit sound when they could have used an orchestra. I play the game with the music turned all the way down, and it feels wrong, but I just can’t stand the chip tunes anymore.

"We really shouldn’t count single player games out yet"?! Who the hell would ever suggest that we should be ignoring single player games? This statement should not have been phrased like this, you insinuate that eventually we will count out single player games. This kind of mentality is what leads developers AWAY from making good single player games… it is the same mentality the turned FFXV into a shit game, and the same mentality the gives me wicked anxiety about the FFVII remake and how much it will try to tailor to multiplayer obsessed assholes.

My only major complaint is the music. I really really don’t like it at all and music is very important to me in video games, however thats the only real issue I have with it everything else is fantastic

maybe Im a bit picky and too much of a Dragon Ball fan, but character design for all party members could have been better, *possible spoiler ahead* I mean the party the Luminary of legend had looked fucking awesome including the previous luminary, if those would have been the actual characters it would have been perfect, instead it seems they were too worried about making likeable characters and most of them have a half assed design, except maybe Erik and Jade, the rest feel very uninspiring. I mean, Erik´s sister and the mermaid from the strand look a lot more appealing than most party members and the same happens with other NPCs that look cooler than most party members, I really hoped Veronica was going to be changed to her adult form eventually, I dont really like that she remains a kid. It seems to me they gave so much thought to the character design that they ended up going overboard and creating close to lame designs. That is the only complain I have, this game is pure jrpg love.

i’ve never played a dragon quest game before, but honestly this is one of the best RPGs I’ve ever played, at least for in a long time. I don’t remember the last time I enjoyed an RPG this much, the story is nice, predictable at times, but nice. I actually like the characters, they have personalities that I like and most of the time characters in games I don’t care about.

Just finished the main game and I’ve enjoyed it immensely! Been playing this series since the beginning – enjoyed playing the NA releases as Dragon Warrior on the NES and Dragon Quest 8. Sad that a bunch were Nintend DS exclusives over here, because these games were made for consoles and not handhelds! It was just a completely different experience!

Do’h! I said "Dragon Age" at one point. It’s what happens when you enjoy both series and then Quest adds in "Age" to the subtitle. What sucks is I went over this video a good 6-7 times making sure nothing went too far giving something away or said the wrong word. I did though! Sorry folks. Please do this *beautiful* game a solid and ignore me saying that while deciding if you’re going to play it. – Falcon
