Im gonna be like every other comment and just say.
This is NOT what you should think of when you think about the quality of the series.
It gets progressively better until at the end (end of season 3) i would say its even better than dbz

While both tradition and digital animation are both hand drawn in their own way, the main difference is in the materials used. While traditional animation uses physical frames called CELs, digital animation uses digital frames and could be polished more sharply but, in my opinion, loses that coloring aesthetic that CELs have.

DBZ Abridged often pays huge homage to the original. It’s funny, but they’ve still managed to maintain and even improve a lot of the epic and emotional story beats. Can’t wait for you guys to reach the Frieza stuff, that’s when the quality starts to sky-rocket!

I cant remenber what was my first Dragon Ball episode
But i know, i made sure to wait until they restart the series in tv and watch from the start… Im talking about Mountain Paozu start
And it was glorious…
Funny enough, i grew up and couldnt remenber a lot of it… And i want to colect all sagas
But i couldnt get them in order
So i got them and watched them in this order xD

he means he misses cell animation…actually frames and cells filmed…not on computers….its hard to explain to idiots but animation even into the 2000’s had cell animation filmed with cameras on film…..not really digital..thats what he misses…not the art itself…..theres a realness to it that only hand drawn cells can give you….about 10 years ago it all went totally digital…

The editing get way better later on, but the jokes definitely drop down in quality. Season 3 jokes just dont compare to season 2 jokes.

A Parody honors the medium it’s sourcing, a Satire is meant to critique the source in a more negative manner. I believe the DBZ Abridged series by TFS is a Parody as it maintains the plot, just pokes fun at certain characters and action while still keeping true to the source material.
