Dragon Ball Xenoverse Review (PS4/Xbox One)
Hey everybody! So Dragon Ball Xenoverse is set to release this Tuesday and I’m here to tell you whether Namco Bandai and Dimp’s latest entry in the long running Dragon Ball fighting game franchise is worth your money.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse will be available February 24th on the Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.

You can get to 3 checkpoints die on the 4th and they start back from the beginning. It helps with leveling up but it gets boring.

Honestly there are a few problems too sadly. The rng they use for the game tends to artificially draw out game time since a lot you have to get lucky with the rng to try and get lucky with it again. PQs have hidden objectives to get an additional event to happen but even if you do the requirement it’s up to the rng whether or not it actually happens, which makes getting some item drops even more annoying for no particular reason.
Difficulty wise the game tends to overpower the AI through infinite ki, super armor, and massive stat buffs nearing the end making a lot of the difficulty artificial and almost requiring you to have to cheese the game to get through.
And honestly even the customization has some problems, most through the costumes having stats and a lot of it not being customizable. Them having stats makes it so that sometimes you can find some costumes you like but not be able to use it without screwing your stats over, which limits your actual customization. As well as the fact that the costumes will support very specific stat distributions so if you dont want to use the one that costume gives you either hope there is something that supports your skill distribution or bite the bullet and use it anyway despite it working against you.
I think this game does a lot well but there are a few bad decisions that keep it from being as good as it could be. I like the gameplay of it but it is held back in weird ways that I hope can be ironed out.
Things like the online problems kicking even offline players out of the game and the abysmal offline versus options are things that should be fixed though and shouldnt have been like that at all :/

I’m tired of people saying GT is apart of the Dragon Ball story. It isn’t. Akira Toriyama said it himself. People need to do research before getting butthurt that the story is its own thing just like the Dragon Ball Z movies.

Being a little optimistic about this game but sceptic on the pricing within the UK (£60.00) on release, I wanted to find out whether the price was justifiable for a game that has had so many re-encarnations. I enjoyed watching your review, you highlighted some key elements that will be decision breakers for myself; whether to purchase this game or not in the near future. I love the DBZ series, this is the first game that has come close ‘to experiencing anything close to the series’. Along with the customisation and even race choices! (Hell yes!). I’m gonna have a lot of fun with this game! ^^.

I couldn’t beat a story mission no matter how hard I tried and I let it be and trained for awhile and my character increased his level and when I returned I handled it with ease. This is probably the most immersive Dragon Ball game I’ve played, very well done!

Definitely not a honest review. This game is missing a lot, its like the developers didn’t want to finish the game or something. You can’t change the stage to play offline wow okay if they didn’t know people buy these games to play with their friends not to pass that sorry ass storyline that you can pass in half a day. The ps2 dbz games over shine this trash by miles . don’t buy this game I bought it online and right after I regret it . you’ll waist your money go buy something better . sincerely yours

this game is just for the fans and look at the comments a bunch of but hurt obsessed fans . the game is horrible the fighting is boring and such a joke that only a fan would say it was good and stop with fanboy BS of learn how to play , yes because that’s the reason the game is a bland horrible fighting game . Great if you liked it but how demented are you to think every one must like the game and feel the same as you because to me the game should have been a $40 game at most . LOL saying because you level up its the rpg part of it , yes that why Western gamers have butchered that term because to them hardline is a rpg because you can level up . The game is a 4 at best for a normal gamer who is not some basement freak who is obsessed with this childish show.

Vegeta and evil buu are my top characters. Vegeta’s my guy. His pride, anger and the will to be the best, and his competitiveness is what draws me in. That’s my guy yo lol and the reason I enjoy evil buu is because..he’s evil, he doesn’t care, he’s doesn’t talk shit, all he does is give you that evil look and attack.
