That was definitely helpful. Glad i took a chance. Thought this was just gonna be a bloated video with info everone already knows. Are there also trick to learning a character special quirk? Like gohans jump down move with (down arrow+kiblast)?

For teching I find that teching down midscreen is optimal but in the corner it is not as useful because for some reasom when in the corner if the opponent drops a combo and you tech down and you recover first and the opponent falls on top of you and they are mashing they will beat you out every time no matter how fast you recover so you are forced to block anyway so when in the corner I think it’s best to tech out of the corner with forward

Y can’t I block in this game? Im not pro but not a novice either but just in this game I can’t block, I c the moves, u go to block an still get caught, then in just leaves me to a touch of death combo, it’s always like this on the PSN network. When I play MvC 2 on Xbox 360 it’s no problem I play on Ps3 an no combos, can’t block, nothing ever works…… what is it with the ps network?

Here we are with 20 essential tips for New and Returning players for DBFZ! For some of you watching, especially if you have been on the DBFZ train this whole time this video might not have much for you sadly. That said though if you know someone who is new to the game, or coming back after some time away please feel free to share this video to help get them up to speed!

Thtas the most critic point on bandai fighting games . The lack of information u get is incredible and painful to figure it out if u dont have much time. Netherrealm studios does it way better and keeps the information about mechanics and stuff like that transparent.

Kind of a video request I guess, I was wondering if you had any advice for players who have plateaued and aren’t seeing any change or progress in their gameplay? Different ways to train, advanced techniques, etc. I would really appreciate your input! I’ve been feeling stuck. Thanks for the videos??

I should probably know this by now as I have around 300 hours played and am an orange square, but I’m confused on what exactly people do while they are in the middle of block strings. When I am doing my combos on people that are blocking I can’t tell if they are mashing an attack button the entire time they are blocking or if they are just really fast to react sometimes. It’s confusing because I know you can press some buttons (like reflect) while blocking and it will continue blocking until a "gap" happens but I’m not sure exactly how this works in general with all buttons. Is it safe to just mash light attack while you are in a block string? Have I been blocking wrong this whole time by pressing absolutely nothing during block strings until I think there is an opening?

I want to play this game again, but I was just so put off by the fact that there’s so many "clone characters" of Goku and Vegeta. Like, it’s even worse than Street Fighter in that aspect.

Hi, I’m new to the game, is there a way to disable the must do circle motion for example down, down-right, right, it’s easier for me to just tap down, right instead of sliding my finger

Damn I didn’t know you could ultimate Z change off of any hit! I thought it HAD to be on a hard knockdown. Guess it’s never too late to learn. Thanks for the gems Rooflemonger

As a noob, if you could, there is also a dumb thing: When I open my opponents normally, at the end of the bnb, I get a sliding knockdown, but if I vanish and do the bnb, first I don’t get a super dash, but they don’t have a sliding knockdown (except special cases like ssj goku I guess?). Unless I immediately qcf/qcb+M while grounded. So I have a hard time I guess what should be done to maximize damage. Like is vanish a good way to spend meter especially with scaling? Can I expand with assists? I know it’s something basic of the game, but so far I only did the light auto-combo into bnb for aerial part. I am trying to learn vanishes and better combos but it’s very input intensive/precise for a medium reward for damage.

Love Tip #20 so many players on reddit and discord always ask “how do I get better?” Or “how to I stop xyx?” When you ask them do they watch their own replays 90% of them say no. Looking at your replays shows you why and how you are losing, its essential to learning what your flaws are. Watching your replays also helps you ask more detailed questions that’s specific to your growth as a player.
Watch your replays!! Lol

Even though I have already learned about nearly everything you taught me, I have neglected and forgotten about the ability to do double light light in the air! I know the characters I like to play don’t necessarily have use for it, but I’ll have to remember if I want to pick up character who CAN make use of it like 16! ^^

I currently play on Xbox but I’m probably switching to PS4 in the summer (and that means re buying fighterz) do you use a standard PS4 controller or are there directional pad ps4 controllers similar to like an Xbox one controller

Im impressed about the Recap Sir Rooflemonger. Thanks for helping the new and "older" FighterZ. I have just one Question: After a sliding Knockdown from my opponent, am i able to delay my uptech? I know that you have videos of the TECH-Situation. But if i try to delay my wakeup into a let’s write UP-TECH – My human Eye can’t catch the difference from a delayed uptech and a regular uptech after a sliding Knochdown. I would appreciate an answer. Thanks in Advance.

I’m kind of a returning player, took a month off and a lot has changed since I last played. Does Vegito still build a decent amount of bar? I know they changed meter build but I use him on my main team as a meter builder then I dhc into my second.
Great video, always learn something new from you.

Just curious, but why wouldn’t you wanna hold the Dragon Rush in more advanced combos? ?
I didn’t know about Nappa or Jirens Ki blasts either! ??
