about the comment explaining what dr stone explained about science – its the proccess to find certain or near-as-possible answers.
“some pepole argue science change all the time. it because its evolving and we learn more things”
i put some though.. why pepole so ignorance to put harsh oppinion on science as untrustworthy.. before they knew to describe the first thing about science…
first: it because they can. and there no change in their status so they might say it to argue or learn or not and they probebly wont get effected by harsh result.
two: when you bring something unspecific like science (i mean specific would be to give all details- the resercher, the date, the expeniment to all its steps, ect)
(sorry for my poor english.. i’ll struggle abit to try express myself further)
there always different between calling someone annoying or kind, and calling a race, or gender… or any big category that fit for atleast Group of pepole.
and there always difference between pepole that adding fiction to their stories, to pepole that loyal only to things they’ve learned and trusted through their own eyes.
to be honest, the more smart i get with this.. the more i wish i could be ignorance 😭😭

Dr Stone legit has one of the best written dubs! The script writers and director, Clifford Chapin (who you may know as Bakugo in My Hero Academia) busted their asses to make sure it was as close to the English manga translation as possible while still matching the animation.

The only thing i didn’t like was every problem is solved by Senku without a hitch and unrealistic strength of highschool kids ,punching lions,catching arrows in midair and also standing in the same position for 3000 years and not one problem with their bones and muscles after they get released from their stone prison , it is like being in coma but without anyone massaging their muscles and moving their limbs, they would have muscle atrophy , and also the science stuff is bare bones and uninteresting after a while because author is speeding things up and repeating the same process of gathering materials and then voila here is the invention .

As an analytical science nerd who loves story telling, it really disappoints me when non-sciencey reactors can’t comment on the science, while sciency people tend to overlook the storytelling and narrative aspects. How is it that anyone released from the petrification isn’t mentally insane? I would understand if it was shown that their mind was put in some kind of stasis, but they went out of their way to show that the people are still conscious for 3700 years. That would be a inescapable waking nightmare to me. I’m new to the series as well as these guys, so please just let me know if it is answered at some point later and don’t spoil the specifics.

Seems cool for sure. I haven’t watched any of Dr. Stone before all I know about it is the premise, the protag and the antag. I’m excited though. Also Senku’s hair always reminds me of a Yugioh Protag’s hair

This show has such an interesting concept. Gonna love the commentary and discussions (and explanation/ breaking down of things) to this series from the Blind Wave crew. I can tell Eric already enjoy it. The background art looks fantastic.

Kari Byron from Mythbusters actually did a crunchy roll segment as an ad for this show where she goes through the validity of the science in the show. It was really interesting. Filled with spoilers about this season, but could be a fun thing to react to when you finish the season.

You do not have to check science stuff every episode guys, some scientist in YT have already respond that all science facts in season 1 and 2 are correct.

Oh man, this series holds such a weird place for me. It starts off so strong and in theory I’d absolutely adore the show, but once they introduce a certain character almost all of the charm quickly starts evaporating at an unprecedented rate for me, which really sucks.
Spoilers for those who care:
The craftsman character is one of the only incidences I’ve ever experienced of a character singlehandedly defeating a key aspect of a series so quickly. He pretty much gets rid of all the actual grounded limitations of producing usable versions of technologies given poor natural quality of ingredients and mechanism complexity (something you see here in this episode with the distillery for example) just through the pure power of bullshit. Like it’d be one thing if he just had expertise in his related crafts, but he legit is just an effective omnipath who can build anything if told what to do and it just clashes so hard with the show’s attempts to use science behind processes, as it just jumps to “oh yeah weaving/carving/glassmaking/metalworking are all the exact same thing that if you know one you’re a master at them all”. It wouldn’t even be that bad if the timescale of everything didn’t become extremely compressed once he enters the series as well as there’s not even a sense of “okay we need to learn to work with our limitations, spend much trial an error perfecting a process that works in those limits, etc” since all that gets thrown into the “master craftsman can do anything” black box.

This season one if one of my favorite seasons of an anime in a long time. Dr. STONE really scratches an itch that kid me got watching Bill Nye in school. Science taught in a cool, fun way. It’s awesome.
