Did you know that Spirited Away set two Academy Awards records in 2003? At the 75th Oscars ceremony, Hayao Miyazaki’s masterpiece took home the second-ever Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, beating out films such as Treasure Planet, Ice Age, and Lilo & Stitch. Not only was Spirited Away the first and only hand-drawn film to win this award, but it’s also the only film to ever win this award that wasn’t initially released in English.

I remember seeing half of this movie in 4th grade because a girl brought it to class to show if there was a free period. We never got to finish it. I vividly remember we got to the part where the masked monster ate the frog boi, and we never finished it. Jennie Lynn if you’re reading this, thanks for making me realize I have OCD and I want to do everything to completion. I never had the chance to finish this movie and I think about it every so often.

Theres no way the even dare to put leylo and stitch and ice age on the same level. Its a huge gap between these two and this masterpiece
