I think he needs to be nerfed a little. With him not testing his powers I can see that. This is a guy who I feel hates his powers. People always assumed he would be a villain even his friends said how great it could be because he can do whatever he wants.
Shinso doesn’t want that kind of power. He wants to be a hero and honestly he seems like he doesn’t like controlling others unless he has to. So I don’t think he would ever really train his ability because 1 he doesn’t like it and 2 its an invasion of other people’s privacy

He needs to be nerfed because if he is too powerful it would be harder to picture him losing and plus he becomes one of those power creep characters. Take mr popo from dragonball. Goku fought king piccolo it was an intense battle goku nearly died but he was able to kill him in the end. Soon after he goes to kami lookout and runs into mr popo they spare and goku gets his ass kicked. So then you got to ask “ where the hell is mr popo ? Why didn’t he take care of king piccolo” I know he could kill piccolo because of kami connection but he could probably kick the shit out of him and seal him away or something.
Anyway you don’t want that with this guy. His power is already very powerful but if he was over powered it makes him less relatable.

I have to say that Shinso’s ability making the others just brainless zombies kinda makes sense… thought it ruins the ideia of making other people do your homework or work. Maybe that’s how he found out about this, maybe he tried to make someone do his homework but it didn’t work.

Maybe Shinso was never meant to figure out the traitor just by brainwashing them and that was the plan horikoshi had and he’s just trying to throw us off. I mean a lot of people think the traitor is kaminari and kaminari only showed an interest in being shinsos friend after he heard about the conditions of his quirk that last part kind of has some plot holes maybe I’m just reading too much into it but it was what I was thinking about reading this chapter

didnt shinso brainwash multiple people in season 2 episode 2 or 3 when todoroki froze the entry gate and shinso came out saying "they are good at using their quirks" while it seemed 3 brainwashed people were carrying him

As someone who thinks Kirishima is grossly overrated power wise seeing him get trounced like this is kind of satisfying (I’m sorry).
Tsuyu using her scent to cover the others makes sense to me as well, although it’s kind of jarring if that’s the case with us seeing the thee of her (I definitely don’t think she multiplied herself though), it’s possible she somehow made the others look like her through camouflage or something (seems like plot bullshit but we’ll see).
Aside from the not controlling multiple people at once (which as others have noticed is odd since he does it in the sports festival ark) none of this really seems like a nerf to Shinso. Midoriya seemed to be semi-aware when under it but not consenting to the movement which makes it more like puppetry than mind control.
It would be a total travesty if they didn’t really cover all of the matches. This seems like a very deliberate plan to actually properly introduce the 1-B characters and if they just focus on Shinso instead that will be really unfortunate.

I do not think Shinsou was nerfed. I will need to read the official translation, but it seems like Shinsou cannot use his brainwashing powers to take control of a group at one time. RATHER, he needs to individually take control of them. That’s a big difference. And even if that isn’t the case, Horikoshi didn’t imagine him getting so popular; so I see the retcon, if it is one, very minor in the grand scheme of the story. As for the chapter, it was great. It is what I wanted to see from this series for a while now.

Shinsou can controll more then 1 person he did once in chapter 24. So he was lieing. Probably Aizawa told him not to tell the others what his quirk can do exactly so he put some fake news into it. (Probable they want to find out who the UA traitor is so they told him to not give to many informations.)
