At the end of the episode kirito gets hit with the poison gun, but didn’t he say earlier that he has a emitter in his shoulder for the app for Asuna, so in a way isn’t this the same of how when kirito got hit with the gun when defending Sinon?

Me, Personally HATE sword art online season 1 meh, season 2 trash, season 3 fucking loving it so far ( i love it so much i am reading the light novel) might actually make me love SAO.

I dislike Sao in general since I think the writing is poor in my opinion. I watched the whole thing just to be able to say I watched it and criticize the whole thing. If this takes the series on a new turn I may look deeper into it. Overall I’m going to check this episode out.

Kayaba didn’t made a virtual simulation, he discovered other worlds and he’s messing these worlds by slowly inserting people from their original world to the others

As you said, I didn’t want to watch it, since i dislike SAO. But it seemed different, so I gave It a shot and wow, it really surprised me. It was actually good.

I enjoy SAO 1 and 2 and even the spin off gun gale one, but I do consider them very flawed series.
I finally watched the first episode of this today and this was way more interesting to me than SAO 1 and 2, I was honestly surprised and now I am definitely looking forward to more episodes.

I was really impressed with the first episode.
One of my fav this season after irozuku and slime Isekai .
I loved asuna. Very glad to see her back .

So, if Kirito died in anime RL, does that mean we won’t have to sit through another exposition scene done entirely via a conversation at a table in some public eatery?
Is this better than previous SAO? (Excluding the alternative one) Yes. Does it still have boring exposition scenes at tables? Absolutely. I mean, it’s a staple at this point.
BTW, there were definitely still-frames. See: table exposition scene.

Whoa! Way to hype up this anime. Looking at the comments, I’m super excited to give this another try. I was a fan of SAO until last few episodes of Season 1 and the middle of Season 2 (which made me drop it)
Do I need to grind through season 2? Or can I skip to the movie and then season 3?

Best anime of 2018/19. The plot of light novels are fantastic in this arc, especially Asuna and Alice rivalry. But why Eugeo has to die.

The Mother’s Rosario arc is so special to me and is by far my favorite arc of SAO, so it’s hard for me to imagine anything topping it for me…….. but if this does, then wow, it’ll be quite impressive (and I’ll be sad to have to knock MR down lol). Looking forward to seeing where it goes.

i remember seeing a newspaper clipping in accel world that linked it too the sao event around the time of me just finishing sao and when i was very new to anime and it simply blew my mind.
