I think that there is a huge potential for a Death Note sequel. Supposing that The Shinigami who looks like Light is actually him…The story could start with Light trying to run and rebuild the Shinigami Realm. He might be smart however, there’s still a problem: The (so called) Shinigami King. Most of the Gods of Death are too bored and lazy to help him with his project and Ryuk doesn’t want to get involved with such a troublesome plan. Nonetheless Light manage to get two Death Notes. He needs allies. The most problematic ex-teenager in the world and beyond pays a visit to Earth. He "accidentally" drops one of his death note near people who share his view of justice. He’s organs are rotten but his mind is as fresh as ever. Human after human, Light turns them into his personal army. Some Shinigami die developing feelings towards a human, others simply forget to extend their life writing names in the Death Note. A fallen king of a damned realm. Who will try to stop Light? He’s just getting started.

Heaven and Hell don’t exist in Death Note. The creator of the manga himself confirmed this.

In the series its shown that if a shirigami saves the person by killing the person who was going to kill the first person then the shrigami will die,
then if lite does think of killing criminals then he will also die because killing the criminal will save ones life. Therfore lite has to take help of a human(if he is the shrigami).

Important thing that you missed: shinugami realm and human realm are NOT the only realms. In the first episode of death note when Rayuk drops his note, the other shinugamis ask him where he dropped it and he says the human realm. They are a little surprised and intrigued. It definitely implies the existence of other realms…

Hated Near – Looks too much like L and since L was bae he cant replace L
Hated Light – "You Either Die A Hero, Or You Live Long Enough To See Yourself Become The Villain" aka he’s a backstabbing dick and I feel sorry for every named character he killed (Both from Arc 1 & 2)
Lastly
Sorry for Misa – She only wanted to love Light, she risked everything for him (despite it being a stupid decision from the start). Even halving her life twice for him. But in the end she killed herself because she was all alone. I honestly felt sorry for her the most. And for those who say she is a useless character
She is. She was designed that way. She was meant to be a burden to Light from the beginning. He even wanted to kill her off, but due to Rem he couldn’t. She was designed to fail from the start. Which is both depressing and yet satisfying since she ultimately helps (indirectly) with his demise.

What if after becoming a shinigami, he lost his interest in fixing the human world? what if it means transcending into a higher being where such motivation ceases to exist?
Besides shinigamis are somewhat of an immortal, living a life that long will surely kill any motivation you have

Light should be a shinigami. It would make sense because light’s shinigami said that light would neither go to heaven not hell.

I like the idea of fixing the Shinigami realm with Light becoming one at the end but the "similarities" between Light and the new Shinigami you described… Is base less at best. Literally the only notable similarity between the two are is the colour of their hair.
