In case you didn’t realize it Nico, Quadratum literally means Square.
And Master of Masters in the KH3’s secret ending is standing on top of Square Enix’s HQ, as people managed to deduce from the buildings surrounding him.
They’re going all in on this Versus 13 esque lore, which makes me believe Yozora might be (at least one of) playable protags in the next big console KH game.

alright nico here’s the dealy-o. firstly the cutscene before starting the data battles in remind we learn that kairi had been asleep for a year, whilst her memories get probbed for clues on sora’s whereabouts. and dont forget in KH1 FM there is an audio-less cutscene that shows us when lil riku and sora first see the door in the cave, at the end of that scene they mention a new girl who showed up which is KAIRI who was sent by terranort to find a keyblade weilder, at the time that was riku because he was already bequeathed by terra. AND, the cutscene with baby kairi and scientist terra-nort, the hand grab basically gave kairi a “ptsd” flashback which is why she froze in front of terranort right before donald used zettaflare. Riku going to quadrattum isnt where the secert cutscene in 3 starts, that was in his dreams like he said in remind. no there aint no finny fun, now then both kairi and sora had their models D-made so they were in the art of the original kh games prior to kh3 which was awsome. and finally this new setting means we ma get a verum rex game HELL YEAH! ok jesus christ Ive editied this too many fucking times

5:26 what? You took what Darkness said to the MoM about them being friends literally? No! They call each other friends as in familiar enemies. No Nico it wasn’t a friend who lost his form. The darknesses are not human nor were they ever at all, they just imitated humans. They purposefully cast off their forms to become ethereal or spirit-like so they could live on and continue the fight against the light. Eventually they became aware that they were losing their will. Also what that guy said about how that one darkness that escaped became the heartless is wrong. The heartless existed during and before Union X and the Master even mentions them while talking to Luxu. There were other darknesses before the thirteen, but their race all lost their will and became primal prior to Union X, seeping their way into the hearts of men, which is presumably why every living heart has darkness in it and is why people become heartless when they give into it. The thirteen were just the ones that still held onto their will up to that point. Pretty sure that Darkness that escaped with Maleficent was the one that Luxu took into himself though I may be wrong about that. Also he said that the Darkness is still in Ven by KH3: ReMind. That’s also not true. That darkness went on to become Vanitas and Vanitas is dead now. I realize this stuff is really confusing so don’t feel bad.
Also no, there was no keyblade war before Union X. There was a war prior to Union X between the denizens of light i.e. people, and darkness, but keyblades did not exist at that time. No Name, the keyblade that the Master gave to Luxu was the very first one that was derived from the design of the X-Blade just like all the rest were.
Why is it dumb that the OC character reincarnated as Xehanort? There is nothing wrong with that. It doesn’t complicate the story at all and just cheeses with the fans. Now if that has too much of an effect on the story of Dark Road that negatively impacts the story I’ll eat my words, but as it stands it’s fine. Dunno why of all the ridiculous story elements THAT’S the one you’re hung up about. Reincarnation is not a crazy out there bs concept. If anything it just explains the cycle of life and death in Kingdom Hearts, which I welcome.

Can we talk about the fact that even in her own dreams, Kairi can’t beat Master Xehanort? Like even her subconscious know she’s too weak. It basically even have that image of Master Xehanort tell her that she is a splendid keyblade weilder possibly out of pity. I feel a bit bad for Kairi.

My theory: More than ever with those new lines from MoM, I think that he is Sora from Worldline-1, left behind in a world where everyone died to Xehanort. Sora is defeated and finally norted by Xehanort, who then invokes KH and restarts the world.
Originally, he wants to start a new Worldline where everything would be okay if everyone would just obey him, but he cannot do that as a physical ruler. Trying to get more power, he casts away his physical form, weakening his will and then making him less cunning. As Sora-1 sense his weakened resolve, he then revolts and become the Fallen Angel of this world.
Obsessed with his betrayal and remembering his past friendship with Eraqus, Xehanort tries to take down Sora-1, but he’s managed to lock away the part of Xehanort in his heart and therefore knows that darkness can be trapped—and destroyed.
He devises a plan to beat him in the long-run, using both his experience as a Keyblade wielder but also Xehanort’s knowledge. Using new disciples in a world of his creation, he then sees the future and discovers 1) the existence of Worldine-2 where everyone except Sora-2 survived, him disappearing to a world of fiction, a new hope 2) that they’re still in Worldine-1 because Xehanort’s plan ensured the creation of Darkness in people’s hearts and therefore securing the chain of events.
As both of the Keyblade Wars are necessary in order for Sora-1 to still exist in this time, he then proceeds in making sure they both happen, while having a renewed hope that he, in fact, is the only person that can change the future and save everyone. MoM would then want to make sure the KH side of Worldine-2 is destroyed with every trace of Darkness locked within it (himself included) while the Keyblade wielders of Now, who rejected the darkness, can go on a Exode in Quadratum and restart their lives there, in a world with no darkness.

The thing with Daybreak Town. Remember that in Union Cross’s time all of the worlds weren’t split apart it was all one big world where all the Disney worlds could be found in one big place. The Break as it’s called was the world’s splitting apart due to what Darkness did in trying to destroy everything and the Keyblade War between the Foretellers left the place scarred essentially, but the world’s weren’t lost unlike in KH1 with what the Heartless were doing the event only lead to the world’s splitting from one another.

Re: deaths and revival in KH
I personally do not mind it if some time passes and we are shown the hard struggles of the characters trying to revive them, so like Roxas and right now, Sora with kairi and riku trying to bring him back. That being said, it also depends on the execution of the struggle, as I wasnt a fan of Aqua’s return and Kairi’s revival in KH3 before Remind shows what Sora went through.

Even during my first playthrough of KH3 I couldn’t help but wonder why everyone sounded so weird and wooden
I didn’t know if it was the VA’s that just weren’t caring or if it was how they were directed but everything just sounded so off. It’s like they did one take for everyone line and said “nah it’ll be fine”

23:58 This moment was actually referenced in the Ansem Reports in KH1. Terranort actually did send Kairi out into in search of a keyblade wielder and she was drawn to Sora, some also speculate why specifically was also due to the charm spell Aqua put on Kairi that would send her somewhere safe.

I feel like there’s a big difference between the MC being reincarnated as a different person entirely (who also died for real btw) vs someone who died but came back. Putting Aqua aside because she never died, Axel was already set up as a being that none of the characters really knew anything about (Ansem did know more than most but even then he let his own bias’ cloud his judgment). They left the door pretty open saying that they don’t know what happens when a Nobody dies, and we got our answer through them coming back recompleted so long as the Heartless holding their heart was destroyed as well. Unlike Riku replica, Xehanort and Eraqus. Sterlitzia, we don’t know since we only know her data is around somewhere, but that doesn’t make her not dead anymore. The same way data Sora isn’t Sora and couldn’t replace him fully as a 1 to 1 copy since they have different life experiences and memories.
I think rolling your eyes at it and saying “everyone’s Xehanort” is ignoring a lot of the meaning behind the reveal and how it recontextualizes the KHUX scene in KH3. To me, it’s pretty interesting that our character who fought for the light, fought to change the world, and put others before themselves to such an extent was reborn into someone who still fought to change the world, but also was reliant on darkness and was so self-absorbed he pushed the people he cared about away for his ideals. On top of that, across death and life, Eraqus and Ephemer both were there to send off their best friend to be reincarnated or even reach their final resting place. Honestly, I prefer this over the theory of our player being Luxord since he’s still going to be a part of the story. At least Xehanort had and still has lore that’s not just “was our OC in a mobile game in his past life”. But that’s just how I feel about it.
Though I did really want Namine, Xion and Roxas to stay where they were. There’s too many characters at this point and some of them need to go. lmao

I suspect that Nomura planned a couple more years of unionx, but got a shutdown notice from Square and had no choice but to rush out every plot twist last minute due to already setting up for those twists In his next scripts. Honestly my theories about stuff in relation to melody of memories is that subject x and the star are not the same person in fact I fully believe that that star is sora or to better explain yazora’s sora. Cause the reason sora and yazora fight in the ending of remind is because yazora doesn’t believe sora when he says he’s sora and through the dialogue we learn that yazora’s sora is a girl (most likely the girl from the vernime Rex trailer). As for anything else we’ll that’s all going to be stuff to watch for.

Luxu technically doesn’t need Brain but he wants to save Brain. He found The Master’s method of sacrificing people unacceptable.
I may have an idea why Xehanort has to be Player’s reincarnation, but you need to watch Dark Road first.
About the destruction of Worlds, there are a few types
1. They went fully into the Realm of Darkness and its inhabitant turn to Heartless or went into Slumber (I don’t know)
2. Some of it went to Realm of Darkness but there is still debris floating around in space at the End of The World (Most of them)
3. Only a part of it went to Realm of Darkness. There’s still a lot of landscape left. (Land of Departure, Daybreak Town)
That last one doesn’t have examples of inhabitants going into Slumber because Terra and Luxu escaped, Aqua came back later, and everyone in Daybreak is either died in the Keyblade War, in Data World, Quadratum. Ephemer is basically the only proof we have that if the world doesn’t go to Realm of Darkness then the inhabitants don’t go into Slumber as well.
Most importantly though number 3 happened because there’s no Heartless eating The Heart of The World, so they survive.

Based on how this story constantly talks about multiple metaphysical and/or astral realms, rebirth/reincarnation
Characters coming back in the Kingdom Hearts series makes sense to the context and story that’s been set in the first place
I can understand that you don’t necessarily like characters coming back to much and that’s all fine
But for what this story IS that trope fits more so than other stories that have it but don’t actually center any concepts around said troupe.
That’s the flow that was set from the very beginning so it’s not like characters are coming back for nothing or JUST for fan service
But it is what it is… you like what you like…..

Here’s another interesting thing about MoM planning to use his proteges and himself as vessels for Darkness.
As has been brought up in the comments, the Foretellers and Luxu are all named for the seven deadly sins – but also, it’s been specifically said that the Master of Masters gave them those names.
There was this brief line like “he bestowed new names upon his six apprentices”, which in hindsight was one of our first hints of his goal.
Also just for the reference, here are the sins in question:
Ira (Wrath): Ira eventually becomes the most openly hostile to the other Foretellers due to his anger at their actions.
Aced = Acedia (Sloth): Aced is the most rigid in his thinking of the Foretellers, he has one idea and sticks with it, doesn’t like things being too complex.
Invi = Invidia (Envy): Invi’s falling into darkness sorta begins when she starts having hostile feelings towards Aced and Gula forming an alliance, and especially Ava gathering the finest Keyblade wielders all for herself.
Ava = Avaritia (Greed): This one seems simple, although she did it cause it was her role, Ava DID specifically pick out the best wielders from ALL Unions to make them HER followers.
Gula (Gluttony): Gula becomes the most obsessed with amassing a ridiculous amount of Lux in order to summon Kingdom Hearts and call back the Master of Masters, being mostly responsible for the huge Lux inflation that escalates into the war.
Luxu = Luxuria (Lust): Alright, if you get your head outta the gutter, Lust as a deadly sin can refer to an obsession with the pleasures of life (to the extend that it harms others and you), and Luxu, as Nico said here, refused to live out his regular lifespan and pass the torch, instead stealing bodies for centuries to ensure he’d continue to be able to experience it himself.
Some of these are a bit more shaky, but this is what we got.
This only leaves Superbia (Pride) for the Master of Masters, which should be self-explanitory, actually.

Part of problem with death in KH is that, according to KH3, death only occurs if a person lose their heart, body and mind at the same time. And the main characters, as powerful as they are, are usually involved in events that will interfere with that process and also have the power to usually fix it.
Most people don’t have access to Key magic and so if they get torn apart as opposed to properly dying it may as well be death. Not an issue for the main characters though!
As to why MoM exists, Shimomura basically asked for a game about the music of KH3.

I haven’t seen the usual comment that was under every other MoM video but Quadratum apparently stands for Square in Latin, i think. And if you refer to unreality as Fantasy…you see the Square Enix + Final Fantasy bridges they are building? xD

The year is 2057, the new virtual reality spin-off kingdom hearts game releases, and it turns out that it was not a game, it was reality, the Darkness starts possesing the players and it turns out Sora Riku and Kairi, who have mastered the art of immortality becaise the power of waking, were real and it was all a plot from Nomura to bring them to the “real world” so everyone could be saved.

The player character reincarnating to Xehanort is not the same thing as characters coming back like previously. They died point blank, reincarnation doesn’t mean its the same person its just the same soul and no one could know they shared the same soul so no one will be referencing it.

I feel like the way they might handle the next kh game is that kairi while training with aqua gets all the disney shit, while riku gets all the new not-shibuya stuff. then when you finsh the disney worlds you cut back to riku and then something freaky happens and finally kairi get her time in the spot light and she heads off to not-shibuya, kicks monkey ass, helps riku, saves sora, and i don’t know, kicks the master of masters in the balls for making everything so damn convoluted. I really do hope that kairi just isn’t an idol layabout in the next game. LET HER DO COOL SHIT TOO! ALL SHE’S BEEN DOING IS EITHER TRAINING OR GETTING HER ASS HANDED TO HER!

I think people are expecting more to come from the reincarnation thing than actually will. We may see some hints of it in Dark Road. But I don’t think it’ll be anything that’ll directly effect Xehanort’s story. It really was just added as like an “oh that’s neat” thing. Also, Player and Xehanort have different thoughts, feelings, relationships and memories. We’re not Xehanort the same way he isn’t player, it’s simply just a reincarnation thing with no connection other than vague dreams to past lives.

Fun fact: The official manga adaptation of Kingdom Hearts I (which I think is done by Yoshitaka Amano) begins with a scene of Kairi falling towards Destiny Island in the form of a shooting star, before landing near the edge of the water as Sora discovers her in an unconscious state there. Kinda made it easier for me as a kid to understand that Kairi didn’t come from where the same world Sora and Riku lived whenever the game mentioned that point.

the concept is really interesting. On KH’s perspective
disney characters, traveling between worlds of data, dreams & memories, the side of light & darkness, everything is “reality”,
but a city with tall buildings is “fiction” on their view. They sees it like imaginary story or a video game, which is shown in the Toy Story World (“Verum Rex”).
From our perspective it’s the complete opposite. Shibuya is reality but talking animal cartoons are fiction.

I heard a theory recently that the nameless star is actually the girl who shows up at the end of kh1’s first secret ending as well as the one in the toy box commercial. So this character and these ideas have been around since the start if that’s true.
Honestly I don’t really mind that characters don’t die often and stay gone. It just further reinforces my theory that kingdom hearts is either a video game or a story to people in Quadratum and Sora is someone’s self insert character that’s way too powerful and can’t die. I have an idea who could have written him in but, I’m not really confident yet.

A theory many people have about “the other side” is that it’s a universe made up of Final Fantasy worlds instead of Disney ones. Proof being Quadratum is Square in Latin and everyone keeps referring to the other side as a world of fiction, fiction of course being a synonym of Fantasy.

I posted this on the KHUX finale video, but I’ll post it here too since you were asking for theories. I’m assuming the deal with the destruction of Daybreak Town is kind of like what happened with Land of Departure in BBS. While these two both had a giant orb of darkness in the sky, it wasn’t the same as what happened to Destiny Islands in KH1. In BBS, Xehanort basically just summoned darkness to fuck Land of Departure up, ripping chunks of the land out and tearing off parts of the castle, but the world itself didn’t fall to darkness, hence Aqua being able to go there and turn it into Castle Oblivion. I think the same probably happened to Daybreak Town. The darkness in the sky destroyed the town, but the world itself didn’t fall to darkness.
Then, perhaps Ephemer used Master’s Defender, the Keyblade left for him and that eventually gets passed down to Eraqus and Aqua, to reshape the world into Scala ad Caelum. This is my theory for how he did it just because it doesn’t seem feasible for a kid to somehow build a city like Scala on his own in a flooded land. Plus, we see the destroyed remnants of the Daybreak Town clocktower floating in the water whereas in KH3, we see the clocktower on the underside of one of the Scala islands.

The reason why Luxu took Brain’s form is easy enough to understand. He says to Brain: “It’s a shame you only have one lifetime.” Brain was going to stay behind and die in the Break. Luxu didn’t agree with that plan. He didn’t take Brain’s form for his own sake, but so he could send Brain’s heart into the future. The memories were there in Luxu and Ephemer’s teachings, and the medium was Brain’s hat. Ergo, Brain gets another lifetime.
Also, Xehanort having vague memories of who his heart used to be before it was desolved and reborn explains why he wanted off the islands and was willing play the villain in MoM’s plans. It’s still an asspull, but I’ll roll with it.

Okay, I’ll say this here since a lot of people seem to be mad about it (hopefully it makes you less mad but I can’t be too sure) I predict that Riku and Kairi are going to have their own stand alone games (not spin-offs, actual REAL KH games) Kairi HAD to stay behind in the realm of light because they need her to star in her own game without being accompanied by Riku or Sora. Kairi’s story is most likely going to feature the Foretellers and Luxu as the villains whilst Riku (and possibly Sora if the game takes the DDD approach) will be fighting Yozora and whatever new threats there are in Quadratum (and also possibly an optional battle against the Master of Masters as a teaser for what’s to come? A man can dream, damnit) So yeah, hope that makes more sense to y’all as to why Kairi needed to stay behind. Kairi isn’t being forgotten in the story, in fact, she’s being given the chance to fight the strongest Keyblade Masters of all time to prove her strength against them.

One of the KH1 Ansem reports explain that Terranort believed that if he shot a princess of heart into space, that because she is a princess of heart, she’ll will be guided to a protector, I.E. a key blade wielder.

To be honest, I was pretty iffy on a lot of this. Not that I hate it, in fact I’ve given in to a lot of the KH madness, so adding “unreality” to the mix is no longer a crazy thing in this series. However, none of that was particularly revelatory, so I was just kind of absorbing that info. The one thing that DID get me pumped was finding out Kairi was going to train with Aqua. Now THAT could be a game in and of itself! And it fits with what we’ve seen as well. Even though she got her Keyblade and trained with it for a bit, she trained with Merlin, who isn’t a Keyblade Master, and that shows with how easily she’s been defeated on several occasions. Hopefully this will be the beginning of Kairi actually kicking some ass and taking some names.

So with the whole Daybreak Town thing, no one anywhere has said this (so I actually believe that as usual with the writers they forget plot points and lore they set up) but it’s assumed by a few that when a world is consumed by darkness and the heartless take that worlds heart, it then completely falls to darkness and gets destroyed. It ends if in the realm of darkness, and if you remember back in Birth By Sleep, Xehanort destroyed Land of Departure, but it didn’t fall to darkness and disappear. As a fan taking things into his own hands, I guess it’s because back then the heartless didn’t get to the Land of Departure that it didn’t disappear. As for Daybreak Town, remember that there weren’t any other worlds up till that point, and I’m assuming there wasn’t a realm of darkness to harbor worlds yet. So it just stayed where it was and reduced to ruble.
As you have said countless times Nico, this is where the series is irksome for me: I love it to death and will continue to play (it’s one of my favorite series) but the number one worse thing that happens actually in these games is not the crazy plot or characters, but how new writers and old go into each entry and don’t do their research on what was set up in the other games. They favor new ideas introduced while also tearing down old ones tithed writers set up so it’s always in a constant state of “You thought example A is how this works? No audience member, this is now the truth.”

I’ve been saying this ever since KH3 came out that the audio quality for the dialogue sounds off compared to past games when it comes to the quality and that means both the acting and then how it sounds in playback. Nearly everyone sounds very stilted in KH3 and onward when clearly they’ve done better in games before this one. I still stand by KH2 having the best acting from the main characters from both the hero and villain groups and even a handful of the supporting characters ngl. As for the playback quality, it legit sounds like there was a glitch when mixing and mastering when recording the actors or someone went too much on a few plugins when balancing out the highs and lows for the actors when they went in for their sessions. I point this out cause I’m an audio engineer as well and have been trained to fixate on stuff like that

I forgot how much I personally despise the Melody of Memory cutscenes and story. It took many missteps that KH3 made and reincorporated them.
We are once again told that Kairi is powerful at fighting, yet we only see her getting schooled yet again. To make matters worse Xehanort is literally telling her how great she is as he brushes aside her attacks like nothing. To appease the Kairi fans Nomura throws in some cheap dialogue while keeping the actual status quo the same. Show, don’t tell.
Which brings me to my next point, once again the milked dry corpse of Xehanort is resurrected to be the final boss. I didn’t like it much in Remind but at least the boss there was different and more what I would expect Xehanort to be in terms of power.
Next on the chopping block, we have characters randomly whipping exposition out of their asses. Based on extremely vague information, Ansem just randomly pulls a bunch of bs about fictional worlds, a concept he is barely familiar with if at all, out of his ass. And he is entirely correct about it. How?!?
Speaking of Ansem, he leads into my final point. Replacing voice actors with other VA’s that already have a prominent role. Your mention of Ansem’s VA sounding like Christopher Lee still made me pay closer attention to the voice. Upon inspection, it didn’t sound like him. But you know who it did sound like? That’s right, the other character famous for pulling shit out of his ass, Yen Sid. So I check the cast and sure enough, same VA now. Naturally, you can’t resurrect Christopher Lee from the dead, but at least give Ansem his own voice actor still, c’mon. If you’re going to have two characters with very similar roles, archetypes and the same voice to boot, why not just remove one of them from the story entirely? They are just duplicates otherwise. Only one is necessary. It’s the same thing they did with Kairi in removing Hayden Panettiere. Not banging on either of the VA’s that took up the reigns of each role, but Xion’s voice suits Xion, because the VA was cast for Xion, a more serious role. She does not suit lighthearted Kairi. Similarly, there was a settled line between wisdom and arrogance that Ansem carries in his voice, indicative of his character arc, which Yen Sid’s VA just can’t really pull off. Presumably they do it because it’s just easier for them, but c’mon English department, the effort pays off.
I might be alone here, but there’s a lot of little stuff like this that when combined makes the final product seem really low effort to me. And that’s the problem with modern KH, it feels a bit phoned in.

Riku actually wound up in Shinjuku (which Insomnia from Versus XIII/FF15 is base on), Sora was the one that wound up in Shibuya. So Quadratum is likely a mix of 4 of the major wards in Tokyo and exists in the Realm of Fiction.
On that note, Fairy Godmother, Yen Sid, and Merlin have stupidly broken Magic and the fact that the series hasn’t created a logical explanation for why you don’t help more is really frustrating to me. Especially Yen Sid. If he had that much power without using his keyblade, then what the hell was he doing this whole time?

I can’t speak to this game specifically, but its pretty common that, for games translated from Japanese to English, the voice actors are given little to no direction. In most cases, the actors are just told how long the line is and told to match the timing.

46:59: When they refer to the ancient keyblade masters, they may not be referring to the fortellers but rather the union leaders. In Union X they did cross over to another “worldline” via wreck it ralph. But also from Scala people’s perspective, “the first keyblade master” is considered to be Ephemer. And Eraqus said to be a descendant of the first masters but again, is likely Union leaders not the Foretellers. Luxu is also the traitor because he talks to Ava and tells her the part of the plan he thinks he know, fulfills the prophecy. Also, Luxu fights Darkness instead of getting possessed. He isn’t supposed to resist it.

i guess it does have a different effect since you watched all of khux cutscenes at once, but strelitzia was dead to our knowledge for a long time. khux only gave us a story cutscene once a month, sometimes every two months. there was so much suspense and so many questions between updates. while it had the opposite effect for you, with you thinking “of course she’s not actually dead”, for a while it had me thinking “why is strelitzia the only character who has actually died? even xehanort got a happy sendoff, so why did this young girl who just wanted to protect the player character and her brother die so tragically?”

Union X definitely deserves a new game based on the same story. I totally agree with you that the story isn’t told well in this mobile game. With such important lore drops, I’m sure Nomura isn’t done with this title.

There was some interviews from Nomura saying he wants to change the KH formula in the future. So this new world kind potential have square property and Disney. I do hope they have the story change a bit too, not too much but enough to introduce more people in.

Ah yes, you notice the Bleach Syndrome KH has long had, everyone lives or comes back to life. That’s why I’m not satisfied with the ending of KH3 and hope they do more with characters like Roxas and Xion in future games. Cause if you’re gonna water down the impact of their previous fates by bringing them back, you better do something interesting with them to justify the backpedaling. A silent CGI scene of them having ice cream again isn’t nearly enough.

At 25:10 ish, weren’t the lifeboats originally just meant to travel between worlds, but due to them being unfinished, they “broke the speed of light and let the user’s heart time travel, destroying the person’s body in the process” (something along those lines)? Then maybe this is a completed lifeboat, which only travels between worlds, like it was intended, so Kairi ends up in destiny islands and still is the same age as Sora.

Something I’m wondering about now is how the connection between reality and fiction relates to what we saw in Union Cross with Wreck-It Ralph. The union leaders describe that world as being one not from their reality but having connected. I theorize that Game Central Station acted as a nexus for multiple different realities (or games), and it got hooked up to the data world of Daybreak Town. At the same time, this all happened in data, which suggests it’s in the KH reality as Ansem the Wise said, rather than fiction connecting to reality.
If we’re going to visit other realities, does that mean we’ll be passing through this nexus again to visit them? If so, we have to watch out for the five Darkness the Union Cross OC trapped in the pathways there… Or maybe not, since they’re in data as well.
It’s confusing, and I don’t see how Nomura can keep continuity without a retcon somewhere at this point.

“Girl power”? Master Aqua isn’t a strong Keyblade Master because she’s a girl, you dingus. Its because of her strength of will, mastery of control and years of intense training. You don’t just give Kairi a game because “she’s a girl and the girl deserves a game”. Kairi isn’t ready yet. They had to start Sora as a novice to kickstart the series, but it doesn’t make sense to do that anymore. Its not “let Kairi have a game”, its “Kairi will be a main fighter in the series when she is ready”.

A lot of fans were extremely angry when Sora possessed/took over Kairi’s form (or whatever the heck that was). This was Kairi’s one chance to stand on her own feet and fight Xehanort, and Nomura just yells “NOPE!” and makes Sora fight this game’s final boss. A game where Kairi can finally get the spotlight, yet instead Sora steals her thunder. Additionally, in the ending credits of the game they fly in every playable character, and the only one not present is Kairi. After this it’s easy to assume Nomura must have a thing against the character.

Remember Nico, we don’t know how Kairi got to Destiny Islands. They didn’t need to show Kairi getting saved by Aqua again because we already know that, but we still don’t know how she got from Radiant Garden to Destiny Islands, which is presumably what happened when Xehanort grabbed her

It just occurred to me that the nameless star in the Final World could be that girl we saw at the start of the Toy Story world, when it was showing Verum Rex. Not Noctus was trying to save some girl from the robots. Maybe she’s the nameless star since she was originally from that world. And she mentioned that someone she cared about was different or something in KH3 when we talked to her as Sora so maybe that’s referring to Verum Rex being different now.

So a few things about quadratum, as many have pointed out, it’s Latin for square so there’s a funny tongue and cheek reference there, but it’s also quite literal as quadratum is not JUST shibuya, but possibly the “Heart of Tokyo” which contains 4 special wards that form a “square” that is shibuya (where sora wakes up in the kh3 secret ending ), shinjuku (where riku wakes up), chuo, and Toshima. Also remember when the Master was talking to darkness, he said he had found a world beyond his imagination, a world of “fiction”, he was referring to quadratum.

Now call me a conspiracy theorist but “unreality” has some weird loose ends associated with it: a.) Yozora (and now Sora) being in unreality and Yozora is a fictional character in Toy Box, b.) we still don’t know where the other half of Toy Box is that Xehanort separated from the one Sora visits c.) Xehanort knows about unreality. I think we’re due to see how KH fits into the Toy Story canon fellas

I forgot to mention this last episode:
You know how all the Keyblade wielders’ Hearts transformed into the Dreameaters? Well, those are obviously the same ones from DDD, and Sora connected with ALL OF THEM.
This means that Sora’s Heart is connected to all of the old Keyblade wielders from Union X.
This explains how Sora was able to use their power and all of the Keyblades in the Graveyard during that big epic moment in KH3.

I think part of the problem with the voice actor’s delivery is as the franchise goes on, the dialogue becomes more anime. And anime has all these abrupt pauses and awkward gasps and all these other quirks, which can probably be really weird to work with if you’re not used to it. The first and second games had these dialogue quirks to, but III is when the anime style dialogue got REAALY out of hand, which may be tripping up the actors who aren’t used to anime style dialogue, not to mention the actors who don’t really do voice acting.
