Loved this trailer when it first came out. Was the only Dragonball Z game I bought but it will forever be the classic that started the trend. Budokai 3 was the shit though.

I remember being excited when I first saw this trailer as a kid, but then disappointed when I found out it was a Ps2 exclusive, and I only had a Game cube 🙁
Then it was released on Game cube and then I was happy 🙂

They need to bring back the sick beats for game trailers rather then just rock or dubstep!

well 2 and 3 they made it more cartoon-ish, if that makes sense… like the characters look closer to original drawings in the show than in the first budokai which doesn’t have that "original drawing" appearance… so i wouldn’t say it’s an issue of graphics, but rather the way the characters were drawn out.

I wonder what build of the game was used to make this trailer, since Goku and Tien’s eyes seem to be different than what’s in the final game.

This was and still is my young brother and my very first Dragon Ball videogame that we had from 15 years ago back in 2002 as we were kids. We have a great time playing the our favorite Dragon Ball characters (mines is Son Goku) and my young brother favorite character is Vegeta. We duke it out to see which could get much victories as possible in the versus mode, played the storyline of revisit the classic Dragon Ball Z anime series, and even win the World Tournament (Tenkaichi Budokai; yeah I lost many times) to get prizes (Zeni, transformations (Skill Shop), techniques (Skill Shop), and a Dragon Ball (Skill Shop)). And listen to the Rock the Dragon theme, just like you was watching the series on television. It was amazing, but the game does have glitches, and bugs though. After that, I collected more Dragon Ball videogames in the 2000 decade up to the present day. I have been watching Dragon Ball Z for 20 years since I started watching the series (thanks from my young brother who got me introduced to the anime series back in 1997 on U.S. television syndication and then two years later I watched it again when I started watching Toonami on Cartoon Network in the spring/summer of 1999). Including I watched the original Dragon Ball series (FUNimation dub), and Dragon Ball GT on the AZN Television in the fall of 2002 (Japanese; Comcast/Xfinity used to have that channel back then. Which it showcased Japanese anime on the channel) and then I watched the English language dub on Toonami on Cartoon Network in 2003. And the rest is history. Oh and I almost forgot, I have been watching anime on television for 22 years ago back in the fall of 1995 when Sailor Moon made its debut on U.S. television syndication in North America during my young brother and my toddler years.
