Dragon Quest 11 has consumed Noa’s entire life – she sees Blue Slimes wherever she goes. Here are 8 reasons Dragon Quest XI is one of the best RPGs on PC.
This isn’t a full Dragon Quest XI review – we are still trying to get through it – but a look at what makes this the distinct JRPG it is. It’s very easy to write Dragon Quest off as conservative, this giant best-selling series that stubbornly refuses to evolve. But could it just be the gaming equivalent of comfort food, or a game that’s confident in its own skin that it doesn’t feel the need to layer on flashy gimmicks.

dont know why but it has a certain charm about it that maybe zelda did well may be twilight princess anyway,it does hold allot of the same charm as that game,to be honest i am an alcoholic and this game helped me slow down my drinking problem,i just needed transporting somewhere else and this game ticks that box,for anyone wanting a heart warming adventure that holds a candle to the zelda series,you need this game in your life.

Played and 100 % on hard monsters on ps4.What a great game, love the series and they really went all-out with this one.As a player who has been around since the first installment, I love how these games have evolved, while never losing the core mechanics.

Took me whopping 270 hours to 100% complete the game… been a while since I went so balls to the wall with jrpg. 😀
I did take my time though many times talking to npc and reading books and whatnot… the game is just.. fun. I didnt think it would be as good as journey of the cursed king but turned out ITS BETTER. Wow… 11/10. (also Jade is the best waifu)

Yeah I really dislike the design of the hero in this one , looks so generic, it’s amazing what a bandanna can do lol , but yeah its dragon quest I can’t resist I will be picking up the 11 s version

I didnt enjoy the game…I admit it is a Masterpiece, but for me a game needs to be challenging to be fun…This game was way too easy, some kind of hardmode would change everything

If you like RPGs definitely worth. The only two things you can really criticize are a generic story and the music. Game-play, UI and menus are the best in the series. There are options everywhere and nothing is permanent unlike in previous games so if you want to change or build you can without feeling like you screwed up. Likable cast, varied game-play and strategy options, and a wealth of content make the game more than worth it.

I really disliked the sister characters in this game. Too much contrast and Veronica was super annoying. Didn’t like their voices or their attitudes.

my only complain. the repeating music that almost goes on your nervs and i wish it could had been a bit more difficult. but im 130h in, and i totally love the gameplay.

Slow going, but surely and steadily it builds up very well as the story progresses, and as you play through the latter half it gradually makes you realize it was worth it all along. It gets really good.
That sure-footedness, patience, and the craft that’s gone into it is such a rare thing in today’s gaming. I like how it streads the thin line between the old and new, I think it’s the last of its kind in the big budget category. When this series is gone, this category of craft is forever gone from gaming. Long live DQ!

I love Dragon Quest, but you are wrong, it did NOT invent most of the terms and ideas that RPGs follow today, Dungeons and Dragons did. HP, XP, Trun, Rounds, Casting Time, Skills, Levels, Overworld, Dungeon, etc… the RPG world (MMOs, JRPGs, ARPGs, etc…) wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for Dungeons and Dragons, and in the 80s when the first DQ came out as Dragon Warrior it was rife with D&D influence.

it is a great game. the skill board really made the game more interesting. the biggest problem is that they ruin the logic of the story with the last ending.

I never played Dragon Quest before. so far I just played Dragon Quest Heroes and I don’t really like it,it’s kind of boring. Is Dragon Quest XI really great for a non fan? I want to order it but have some doubts. I have small money so I want to make sure it’s worth for every penny.

i’ve finished dq1,5, and 8. i’m currently 30hrs into this one and it is such a delightful experience! this game makes me smile a lot! also made me shed tears with the mermaid story.

I just tried the game and I can’t complain about visuals and gameplay but I don’t like how no monster or enemy looks like an enemy. Feels like I’m playing a pg13 version. My favorite RPG was mana khemia 3 and I’m looking for something just like it but haven’t found it yet

Playing on pc and my eyes almost melted and my jaw hit the floor. The visuals alone make the game worth it. The detail in the textures really pop adding immensely to the immersion. It’s like being swallowed up, I’ll start playing and the next thing I know 5 hours have gone by.
