This was the theme for my recent camping trip to the very remote Burr Oak Cove at Burr Oak State Forest in Ohio. There was no cell phone reception and the only amenities were a frost free hydrant for water and an outhouse. But it was heaven on earth. I found heron feathers on the lake shore and watched a bald eagle catch a fish. The mornings were magical, with mist rising off the lake and the pre-dawn light peeking over the mountains. In the morning chill, I started a fire and made coffee, and never was there a more welcome cup of coffee, with hints of smoke.
