Yuru Camp △ – Aaox’s Anime Review
Yuru Camp △ – Aaox’s Anime Review
Aaox decides to unplug for a weekend to get in touch with both his feelings, and Yuru Camp.
¶
Less review, more analysis of my favourite thing about the series, perhaps, but hopefully nonetheless entertainmnformative.
It was an extremely enjoyable show, which I certainly wasn’t expecting, and whilst it’s hard to call it anything more than ‘enjoyable’ – it’s certainly not a life changer, at the very least – I have almost nothing bad to say about it, which is surprising given my usual proclivity for negativity.
Speaking of, the copyright wolves tore down my previous Hellsalem’s Lot video, so that’s why, uh – that’s why that’s gone. It was a manual takedown, too, so unless I’m willing to go to actual court, I doubt I can do anything. Wish I could do more. Might try uploading them to Vimeo or something, but you’ll hear about that when it happens.

the song are the best of 2017 ( close second beatless intro) and this show indeed is a sweet relaxing moment in the life of school girls who enjoy the nature of japan camping environment , trust me it would worth it to spend a few thousand of dollard to go to japan and travel the country side and see how beautiful this country trully is, this anime really does it justice

Man it sucks how you take forever to make a video but when you do drop one, it’s pure gold.

I really enjoyed watching Yuru Camp after a long day at work. Its subtle pacing, soothing character voices and just how smooth the show seems to flow really helps me unwind.
Nice review, as always!

Dude, I completely get why you loved Yoo Roo Camp and Antarctica but you’re overly salty on Darling. By all metrics except arguably the narrative it is an above average show. You’re just getting this violent overreaction to it because you recognize the missed potential. Darling is NOT a bad show.

I am actually interested as to why you disliked Franxx. Franxx and Overlord were probably my two favourite shows of winter 2018.

For another "slow paced Slice of Life anime that has more going on than what appears at the surface level" kind of anime, I’d also like to suggest Sora no Woto, aka the most accurate portrayal of military life for the average person enrolled that I have seen in any anime.

So much mediocrity comes out nowadays that it’s hard to find good shows and whatever is hyped by the anime community is more often than not , style over substance. Thanks for making these reviews! They really do help out a ton!

Great to see another review! I love this show, too. It took a while to watch it all, as I found saving it for days that were particularly rough at work made them way more enjoyable. I hope you’ll do a review of A Place Further Than the Universe next. It was a different "cute girls" show and one of most beautiful and heart-warming things I’ve ever seen. Together with this show, they were very soul-enriching.

Thank you. I’m too old and cynical these days to bother with every piece of schlock show that comes out, and I need reminders like this to check out the ones that are actually worth my time. This was the exact kind of little push I needed. Awesome review as always.

Super good review!! I have had my eye on this show for a while, so I skipped the spoilers part so I could watch it myself. I too thought it was just going to be another typical girl’s slice of life. Now I’ll give it a shot

HOLY FUCKING SWEET JESUS ON A POGO STICK THIS FUCKING AMAZING REVIEW !!!
i am watching too much reviews of Yuru Camp. Aaox you are still the best at making this.
PS
b the way Rin loves dogs
and Nadeshiko sop lively that the characters even call her behavior dog like.
fitting, because Rin really needs someone like Nadeshiko in her camping time.

A month late, but I finally get to watch this review from Aaox. The comfy vibe from this video is almost at par with comfiness radiating from the anime, I just wanna curl up in my blanket and go to sleep.

If you like Slice of Life shows, Kinema Citrus produced my favorite a few years ago called Barakamon. A manga adaptation about a calligraphy artist who after assaulting a critic is sent on retreat by his publisher to figure his issues out. It’s a really heartwarming story about overcoming creative blocks, figuring out who you are and how you relate to others and it’s got a great seaside town vibe.

As you said in the beginning, I too am not too much into the "cute girls doing cute things" anime, but to my surprise this season had two of them, Yorimoi and Yuru Camp, and were the best season had to offer imho.
With 11.5K BDs sold in the first week, we might get a 2nd season eventually.
Thanks for covering this. (That ending tho… ;_;)

I’d love to hear your thoughts on A Place Further than the Universe but there are literally thousands of videos screaming for people to watch the show and even though I adored the show I kinda hate when people over-saturate it.

I would love to see a season 2, except I fear that some other developer would pick it up, and we’d have Nadeshiko and Elon Musk, getting together to make the Dragon3 Rocket tent, to do potato-raising camping on Mars, or something similarly stupid…
