after watching this have you done some research on the Yokai? or some culture search on Japanese spirits?

Same voice actors have been playing different characters in the series. E.g. Tantanbo’s voice actor is the same person who voiced Old Man Cly Baby in 1990s. He was also in the Yokai Castle episode in 1980s.

Gegege Kitaro is a series that keeps going for a long time.
Author’s Mizuki Shigeru participated as a soldier in the Second World War.

Hey gorgeous. Hey you got a pretty good singing voice too. You’re the total package lol. But yeah I agree with you on this anime. It’s definitely starting to grow on me too. Humans can see Yokai, only if they believe in them. The more you believe, the more you can see. Children are usually more easily swayed to believe in Yokai, but they doubt themselves since it’s the 21st century. The moment something happens or feels wrong, they’ll believe in Yokai more and will usually be able to catch glimpses of them before falling victim to one. If Yokai want to be noticed, don’t mind being noticed, or if they approach you directly, humans can generally see them, like how Mana and Soma could see Kitaro and his father immediately.
Like Mana in the first episode, she couldn’t really notice the Nobiagari at first, but after seeing Kitaro get defeated, she convinced herself and was able to see more!
Konaki-Jijii/Old Man Crybaby can turn into stone when he cries. 🙂
Kitaro is very conflicted between respecting and hating humans. The anime has shown why he gives them a break: a human saved him when he was a baby and it’s a way of paying off the debt. One of the reasons he may hate humans has to do with the Ghost Tribe, how they died, and why Kitaro is the last survivor(other than his father, who is mostly decayed). Hopefully they’ll re-tell his backstory later on!
Another great reaction, I’m glad you’ve taken a liking to it! The next episode airs today, and I’m very excited for it. It’s going to be a tour of the GeGeGe Forest, featuring the precious little Yuta from the first episode. <3
