I personally never understood the shinsou love. "Oh, my quirk isn’t good for punching robots" might I introduce you to invisible girl, tape boy, and guy who talks to animals when there aren’t any animals around. Maybe if he trained to the point of being able to run about 50 meters and lift like a pound based on looks, or i don’t know actually acted like a hero and rescued some people he might’ve gotten in

10:13 I don’t know if it holds the same significance, but in Episode 2, when All Might tells Midoriya "You too can become a Hero", the same cherry blossom falls past his face as he begins his journey to becoming a great hero.

There may have been hints before, but I like how this episode in particular shows off how some quirks really are at a disadvantage when it comes to the entrance exams and hero society in general. There’s an imbalance.

The writing does a good job of making even the viewer fall into the idea that Shinso is bad just because of his power. But because hero society, and even the Hero Course of UA is favorable to people with flashier Quirks, he doesn’t have the luxury of playing nice. Guys like him have to do what they have to do because they’re in front of more walls from the start.

We are now rooting for Shinso to be brought up to the hero course, but the hero course classes are full. This means someone currently in the hero course will have to be kicked out. Keep this in mind as all the test results roll out

My boi SHINSO! I love how Horikoshi subverts some things. Like someone with a power you usually see in villains strives to be a hero and is a good person. Also, I like how Horikoshi slowly shows us that the world of superheroes and quirks isn’t as bright as the first episodes suggest us. Like true, we see some bullying towards Izuku but still once you get a quirk it’s sort of suggested everything is dandy. But it’s not. There is a lot of bias, you may have a quirk but you’ll still be judged for it(manga readers who reached recent chapter know what I’m talking about). It does appear in this show, as well as the darker side of the hero society as a whole. It actually starts in a couple of episodes…the first real show of darkness. Because of Shigaraki’s speech? AM saw through it, he saw it was just the villain trying to come up with BS to sound profound and like he has some ideological reasons. Gods I love this show. Also the shadowy figures are important. They haven’t made their appearances yet in the anime but it eventually will.

If youa re wondering how Deku fell for Shinso’s power even though he knew about it, remember that he mutters all the time. Deku is a verbal processor, who has to say things as he thinks them. he is also highly emotional, despite his intelligence, and tends to react based on emotion. He had just had a bonding moment with Ojiro, so hearing Shinso call him a ‘monkey’ – a word deliberately chosen by Shinso to be offensive, since he is trying to get Deku to react – made him react like he always does.

All Might’s mentor is covered in the show, and they do hint about the mentor a little bit after the Tournament is over, but they aren’t covered in detail until Season 3. I will say, it’s worth the wait.

13:04 Yea it’s like a super power puppy mill. He want’s a kid with a certain kind of power set so he keeps trying until it happens. Endeavor might be the number 2 hero but he’s a real number 2 when it comes to being a decent person. On a more positive note I love how the audience did their best to cheer up Sero after his loss.
