Nagisa is NOT a wimp. You should know that (if you’ve actually watched the series). You also got his whole description wrong. For example, Karma doesn’t defend him. Also, Nagisa is shown in the very first episodes to not be a wimp. I bet that you just based this on his appearance and you haven’t actually watched the series properly.

Shinji was realistic. Not every teen anime or no can be an Eren or Kirito or Kaneki. Most character roles in NGE have some sort of realistic attribute of sorts.
