Millenials discover that my generation got better tv shows and never going to dare to make something like this again…
They forgot that Shinji its just a 14 years old kid with a lot of issues on the most complicated age period for a teenager. They want the characters just react like on a traditional shonen or like in an traditional Mecha series.
This is why 26 years before we are still talking about this series, still found things on It, and nobody is talking about another traditional mecha genre series.

Nah I still can blame Shinji, ya’ll constantly yap how "he’s just a kid" Asuka and Rei are kids too. Shinji is partly to blame for his actions, his father being the pathetic retard that he is unable to see how helpful and more beneficial it would have been to his project had he just built confidence in his son not tore him down when he’s already mentally unstable. Show presents parenting well, how a poor parent makes a broken child. Though I still say Shinji ain’t a baby, he isn’t 5 and he had already done MUCH by this point. The fact he is disconnected as people he knows dies with only crying shows he made zero character development. It doesn’t matter his age at that point, he can’t even muster courage to speak up for himself by the end of the series. Again, I know he’s unstable but are you guys really dumb or something? Everyone is unstable in this anime, Shinji doesn’t get a pass for that but his father really dropped the ball so it’s a big part of the whole issue.

Seems like it’s very hard for people to remember that Shinji is just a kid. One of the things that makes Eva so interesting is the subversion of the mecha genre. Shinji is a teen who has to keep standing up again and again after the world beats him down. He mentally has to deal with the fact that if he lets the people down around him, the world literally ends and he is the cause. Barring all of his other emotional trauma, it’s sad to see folks not cutting him any slack.

33:15 when I first watched Misatos death I cried like the dude on bottom left did.
And I still cry sometimes about her death scene,I swear shes the only character in any anime/cartoon/series/movie that has left me destroyed like that. Its amazing
