That was a trailer COMPILATION. That’s why it felt so disjointed. I’ve read the light novels that Season 3 will adapt, and I can confirm that this story is MUCH better than Season 1.
Also, the release date is October 6.

Have you guys seen the movie yet? And just as an update, as someone who went to the Season 3 premier I can tell you that the 1st episode of Season 3 is a double-length episode with basically the entirety of the first 24 minutes being spent inside the new game. So if things seem different, don’t worry, be patient, and just take it in till the 2nd half of the episode where things start getting explained.
