They want Kirito to care so much, like they’re still missing everything this abridged series is aiming for. I guess they’re the type that likes for the hero to be the hero forever. That’s why people are tired of Goku.

I have been trying really hard to watch this as I love you guys reactions and I love SAO abridged reconstruction of the series into something with an actual arc and progress. But it jsut gets so frustrating to hear you guys talk while clearly not getting what is happening. Yes, Kirrito is an ass, yes the series doesn’t shorten the show by mutch (wich is not the point of an abridged btw, it long since hasnt been anymore). But thats the point. Because it allows him as a flawed character to grow slowly out of that. I mean you can already see how the death of his guild is now his driving force to help others even if he tries to resist that.

Wow, there is so much hate from people who can’t stand anyone liking the original SAO. No wonder they stopped reviewing it. I’ve throughly enjoyed SAO, and I don’t like anime in general. I could see clear character development in it, but I guess that’s just cuz I’m able to catch-up on subtle things that are more high-brow than most critics. Sad that people today are all "IF IT’S NOT LOUD AND OBVIOUS AND MAKES ME THINK IT’S OBJECTIVELY BAD! REEEEEEEEEE!". I guess that is also why we have schmucks who tink JK Rowling or George RR Martin are anywhere near JRR Tolkien, for example. SAO provides a very thoughtful and emotional insight into personalities of gamers and people of the internet age, but in a subtle manner, that shows rather than tells. The fact that people claim SAO is "2-dimensional" is just ludicrous when there are so many more trope-heavy and low-brow animes out there that you basically have to blindly worship or become a social outcast branded as a heretic. Truly, the hypocritical weeb community is toxic and disgusting as f*ck.

I feel like some people don’t appreciate the amount of editing and visual effects that the abridged team put into this, not to mention how they repeatedly bring back characters introduced in the first few episodes. I can’t quite remember, but I don’t think the original did that apart from the "main" side characters.
Also, they say it’s not abridged, but compare the length of this one to the original 2.

Dual-Wielding is a unique skill awarded to the player with the greatest hand-eye co-ordinated reflexes in the game, since that is the only way someone could feasibly dual-wield swords competently. Kirito earned that skill and supposedly there are other skills that are uniquely awarded too, like sword-throwing or wearing extra armour layers.

Are you guys really incapable of liking a character who doesn’t consistently do the right thing? Watch Death Note or read Artemis Fowl. The best main characters are the ones that have to grow to the point of doing the right thing for its own sake.

I have watched both the real and abrided version tons of times over and I have got to say, the real Kirito was practically C3-PO from Star Wars! At least the abridged Kirito has a realistic attitude considering how Over Powered he is. The abridged Kirito did a hell of a better job than the one from the anime. Just to make this clear if it wasn’t I really hate C3-PO from stars solely because of his lack of character. Robot or Beater both him and Kirito SUCK!

skjfvsdkfjcndsklcnds i really dont like that your mind set the whole time watching is how close it is to the original. most abridges series have almost nothing to do with the original series then the main plot and maybe the characters basic architypes, they arent made to shorted down the series or to be like the series they are made to be short comedic videos that are based off of the original anime. not following it basically stepping on the shows feet trying to be just like it. like if you take deathnote abridged for example, its 55 episods long and the only things really in common with the original series are the characters and their motives and the plot on the simplest form. its for comedy not to be like "wow this was the series with all the filler cut out"
