The FBI logo at the end is something that used to appear in American arcade games along with an anti-drugs message. So having it there with the ‘use steroids’ message from the game was a pastiche of that, since the end credits had the whole 80s/90s arcade game theme.

Y’know what’s funny? To some extent, this parody has better, solid plot than the anime itself. And it’s only meant to parody the original. Sometimes even reminding the viewers the plot is taking place in an MMO in a very online-fashion … like Sachi’s lag.
They did a standout job on this – not only with comedy but with plot and character development. They kept to *their* episodic lore and not the anime’s. I can only hope they keep this up for season 2- it might actually be worth watching then lol.
i.e. I feel season 2 was crap in the anime itself. Ruined character development for one. Ham-fisted forced marriages and degraded damsel-in-distress Asuna plots, and the like. I really like SAO; but at the same time I don’t. It’s very weird. 🙂 Probably it’s more the concept of SAO and its characters, than ‘actually’ SAO and its characters, if that makes any sense.

They were actually clearing 3 to 4 floors per month after the first month. At that pace, they would have beaten all 100 floors of SAO in about 8 months. However after the first floor, they were losing 87 people a month and (at that pace) another 700 people might have died if they kept going.

The fun of playing a new video game is that nobody is a master of it from jump. You die, lose some money or items, then go figure out better strategies of how to win next time. And that’s what regular SAO _should_ have been. Kayaba forced everyone to either be perfect from jump, or die for good. There’s no satisfaction in playing like that. Almost every gamer feels complete when they finish a level that they were on the edge of their chair trying to survive through. Like that one rando character said, no one would still be playing if they didn’t have a gun to their heads.
Kayaba was on god mode from the start with probably top tier items, _and_ knowledge of every twist and turn the game had. So no matter how stupidly anyone died, it’s kinda not fair he judges anyone else when he never once played the game for real.
