Anddddd they messed up once they put GGO aside and kinda changed the purpose of the second season. The season started out great, but once they switched to ALO and changed it to some other main character and basically putting Kirito aside it just started to lose my interest. In the beginning the season’s purpose was for Kirito to go into GGO and investigate Death Gun. Sinon was the secondary main character. But after half of the season they completely changed everything. You don’t even see Sinon until the very last episode after they go into ALO, well you do, but only for a 3 or 4 episodes right after they go into it, she is no longer the one of the main characters. After a while they put Kirito aside after Asuna fights this girl and the girl chooses her to be in their guild, claiming the new girl the best "swordsman" when clearly Kirito was the one that risked his life to save thousands of lives in SAO. That could be a opinion on whether or not she is the best swordsman. Don’t get me wrong, I liked the anime. The ending almost brought tears to my eyes. I just expected them to eventually go back to GGO and finish what they started. Hopefully in the 3rd season they will.

Does Asuna have an important role this season? Their relationship was one of my favorite parts of the first season.

Man the ed was amazing. Reminds me of AoT and FMABs first ed. But I feel like I’m going to love Sinon the most this season, her character seems so interesting. I just hope they continue this in episode 3 because episode 3 in the first season was where the pacing went a bit weird

So Chibi, as an anime only watcher, I have a theory… I know you are a light novel reader so you would know if this was right or wrong, so please don’t spoil it to me. But is the girl in black in the theme song of SAO II Kirito ??? Cause i’m pretty sure this theme song is going to be used in the gun gale arc, and I don’t see any Kirito avatar in the theme song. The girl has the same face as Kirito.. and she wears black….. so is it possible that this mystery girl is Kirito’s GGO avatar ???? If this theory is wrong, then at least you can have a good laugh about it 🙂 Have a good day !!

I’m afraid that Asuna isn’t gonna be much in this. Well I don’t read the novel so I wouldn’t know. XD. But it seems like Kirito is gonna be hit on by girls again and I wouldn’t be surprised if he was. :p. Anyways, I really enjoyed these first 2 episodes. Especially the 2nd one and the action.

Isn’t it heavily implied about the dodging and line-of-sight of shots with the whole repeated redline thing? I’ve never played an mmorpg nor a shooting game in my life before, but I still understood that part of the episode.
And I really was not that bugged by the ALO scene at the end. I actually found it enjoyable, because the attacks Silica and Liz did looked very similar to scenes we’ve seen Kirito in, and I had almost like a mock nostalgia moment watching this scene. If you didn’t catch what I’m talking about, go back to the episode and you’ll see that Silica’s initial attack looks similar to what Kirito looked like when he defeated the Floor 1 boss, and Liz looks like Kirito when he swooped down upon General Eugene of the Salamanders.

My theory on the tentacle scene is that they did it to say hey remember this character she looks different so we will replay that weird scene so you connect the dots.

Or they are just after pedo cash.

im an mmo player so i know the mechanics of shion without needing explanation and it’ll kinda kills the "action" mood if we hear someone explaining stuff like "you got revealed after you shoot your foe regarding of distance" and "there’s a projectile warning whenever your being shot within your line of sight so you can dodge when you have good reaction time" so they leave it on viewers perspective to analyze that stuff IMO, and fvck that tentacle cliche btw

The episode was amazing but the ending did ruin it a bit for me. I can’t wait to see more action scenes in GGO and how Sinon develops as a character because so far, I am only interested in Kirito and Sinon.

@Chibi Reviews I dont think we should be celebrating this is only episode 2 and this is a 12 episode arc adaptation meaning they might f*ck up the last episodes and rush this Arc. Dont get me wrong i like SAO its just after what they did in the 1 arc i just cant trust them. Great Review Chibi 😀

I got to say that I love this episode. When seeing Sinon doing things, dude she is a boss! I love her competitiveness. But some things got me a little ticked off but it is just minor problems, such as the Silicia, Lizbeth, and Leafa, killing a monster saw a number of same animations from season 1 but put into different characters, and of course the tentacle monster did tick me off too. Of course when the Behemoth came in, I was thinking that is a F***ING CHAIN GUN, but it is a mini gun. Any difference? Sorry if I got this wrong.

I think the line of fire was a poor(stupid) idea for a first-person Shooter because it defeats the purpose of sniping and the joy of sniping and impracticable on so many levels

This was a pretty good episode, I too am glad they’re following the Light Novel though I felt like facepalming when they did that tentacle scene Alfheim-style. GGO is actually my favorite arc of SAO because I like firearms more than swords and the Hecate is my favorite sniper rifle along with the SVD Dragunov (which is what inspired this Youtube name =P).

Chibi, they also didn’ say who Behemoth was. I won’t say anything just in case they return to it. Also, you are right about that end scene; it didn’t happen, but I personally don’t mind it as a little break from action is fine.

And… sigh, I’m just going to say this once. I love this season of SAO, I really do, but if the next episode is what I think it is… I am not going to enjoy the next episode.

Lol did you catch that psycho smile from Sinon when she jumped off the tower? Sinon:"The End" *point blank .50 caliber to the face*
    Audience:"DAAAAAAYYYYUUUUUMMMM"
Sinon is quickly rising through the ranks of Badass Snipers in Anime.

I’m sorry, but am I the only one who found the whole "smiling means you’re strong" ridiculous? I mean people can smile because it’s a game. People have fun.

    Anyways, a Kirito-less episode. Hurray!

It’s ironic how cowboy said that Sinon takes the game way too seriously, when he’s the one crying and freaking out about the situation.

The last scene shows the useless harem members, and then Kirito preparing to take off.

That’s why people need to read the LN before watching something or at least after watching it so they get a full understanding.
As for me, I play MMOs, so I can understand the mechanics such as that trajectory line and extreme tall free fall as most game engine does a pretty bad job at calculating fall damage etc.

Though it’s pretty unrealistic with the trajectory line in RL. Yes snipers do change position frequently but the first shot doesn’t always mean your position is revealed.
This is probably more of a balancing aspect of GGO than for realism.
And in GGO, either the bullet is traveling much slower or your speed+reaction speed is just faster. That wasn’t really explained in the novel.
Since IRL at 2000m using a sniper firing at projectile with an average velocity of 850m/s is actually at supersonic speeds. And in 3-4 seconds, the bullet would of hit your target.
Meaning there is very little requirement for calculating gravity, wind and lead.
Lead is only for fast moving targets but seeing it’s just humans, that’s unlikely. Maybe calculating gravity for snipers since they fire very far, 4 seconds is enough for a bullet to have at least drop a feet below your line-of-sight.

Anyways, my point about the bullet speed ,is that assuming an reaction time of 1 second, you have 2-3 seconds to dodge, since the trajectory line appears after trigger is pressed. the chance of you moving fast enough to avoid a bullet like that even if you know where it’s going to hit is pretty hard.

So the effectiveness of the trajectory line is pretty crap. Of course, unless as I suggested, the bullets is slower or the human movement and reaction speed is faster.

What an epic episode. This is like an ‘introductory’ episode for Shion, which is really good, in my eyes. I like Shion’s character so far. That epic sniping and other guns during the battle. Maaaan… Shion was like ‘stop being afraid ! Run in there and die fighting !’ Well, not in those words, but it was something along those lines.

That last scene with Shion vs Behemoth was epic. Shion jumped off the building and got her leg shot off, ouch. Thennnnn… "headshot". Woooo. The music was really cool, too. I liked how they hyped up the situation with the music, was very nice.

The beginning was a little confusing, but when I heard Shion read the name and the subtitle saying "Hecate II" I was thinking to myself "Ohhh, that has to be her ultimate sniping weapon or something’s origin."

And hey, it’s an anime. Inner monologues are okay in an anime, but showing it is better.
