Yo what was that scene though when it was mikio on the ground while wearing the gear (info about the gear was on a screen in the segment)???? Was that suggesting a possible drawback to wearing the gear?

4:30 i agree on that ! If you pay close attention to the ending cinematic, there’s a bunch of animal representated. At first I was like "ok the wolfs/dogs for Joe, dragon for Mikio, Lion and Spider for the two last fighters (as said in the story)".
I was wondering about Yuri’s one. Now with this episode it is clear one dog/wolf is for Joe the other one for Yuri. Or because you could say well it’s the same wolf/dog with the same scar, it just enhanced this idea that Joe and Yuri are very much the same.

Megalo Box turn out to be that kind of series that give us such a strong impressions & emotional "antagonists" more than the main protagonist itself. the story pacing of this series is the best one so far this season.

Why i get the feeling Mikio might used Joe as his Yuri once Joe defeat him and get in the tournament, we all know Joe gonna need a gear considering he fighting this Lion guy who is not only physically imposing but his style is based on pure raw power, like this episode showed there is a power struggle in the company and Yuri and Joe might end up being pawns in Mikio and Yukiko games

There’s a lot to say about Megalo Box… While it is not focusing that much on reflecting a possible futur for our society, there’s from the start several elements which hint at questioning capitalism, inequalities, ecology and animal cause, corruption, emancipation… It raises so much ethical questions.
I’m absolutely hooked to this show (13 rounds only ?) but it wouldn’t be half as good without the incredible soundtracks that come with it. Specially in this episode with two very strong and evocative scenes : the second Shirato meeting followed by the Yuri and Mikio confrontation, and the negociation between Yuki and Nanbu.
The soundtracks playing during these scenes are sooo good and I can’t wait for the full OST to be released around June.

I loved this episode as always with this series but I’m scared for Joe. Mikio was making a new gear to beat Yuri and this episode showed a scene where he almost finished it. I think what makes his "anti Yuri’ gear he is making so special is that it wont just detect gear movement, it could read body movement as well. In a past episode we were told that Yuri moves as one with his gear. That could mean his gear has no input lag that other gear usually do and is the reason why Mikio needed to make new gear to beat him. Joe and Team Nowhere are the ones who should not get overconfident as well I think. Another thing about Mikio looking at Joe like he was nothing, he definitely underestimates Joe but with him knowing how his own gear works, he will definitely use his new prototype on him I’d say.

Don’t know about anyone else but I think Fujimaki-The mob boss was pretty cool in this episode for giving Nanbu and the others and chance and helped out to an extent. He’s up there in my favorite characters.
