the still image at the beginning is supposed to be where the "Kono bangumi wa goran to sponsa no teikyou de okurishimasu" would be but the episodes we get dont have that because crunchyroll so they raised the volume of the mood music and kept them there instead of cutting them out.

I was disappointed with this show. Ashita no Joe is my number 1 manga and thus show has major flaws: Joe get no character development like Joe Yabuki who went from trash to hero, Joe was the strongest, the most beautiful and most importantly the most fragile but Megalo joe is just a fighting dog, and finally the story is a tragedy and without that there is no meaning to it.

One Point that is maybe important, throwing the Match doesnt just mean to lose the Match.
It means to lose at a specific time under specific conditions.
Betting on winning or losing doesnt make the big cash.
It’s betting on losing in the third round through K.O. (or winning for that matter)
That’s the reason Joe had the Earpiece in at the start of the series where Nanbu would give him exact instructions. And Nanbu again would get a rough idea what he had to do from the Club Owner/ Betting Leader who had a direct view on the odds and quotes. Which would change while the fight would progress.
While the Mafia would bet of course on the best outcome at the time. Making this whole throwing the Fight Business more dynamic and complex than simple win or lose.
