Actually the Giraffe is reflected to us!
The Giraffe is representing the audience, one of the two parts of a stage show (the actors and the audiences). That’s why it talks to us in the middle of the show. So basically WE ARE THE GIRAFFE, our desire to watch the show makes the show continue.
