I still consider this movie one of the best of all time. Movie! Not just anime movie! But Movies in general, an incredible mixture of writing, sound design, voice acting, soundtrack and the artwork! San was my first anime crush when I watched this, can write a book of why the movie is amazing in every category of cinema… But I won’t, glad you enjoyed the movie man.

Its prince mononoke voice actor recording video.Ashitaka is powerful,and Eboshi is beautiful. My faborite voice is Moro who the San’s mother,When the yellow hair actor play the Moro,surprised Hayao Miyazaki.

just fyi but Mononoke means any spooky being out of the human world – demons, evil souls, or ghosts. So yeah, calling her Princess Mononoe is meant to be an insult. Notice Ashitaka is the only human who doesn’t call her so. He calls her Wolf Princess, if not her name, San. what a decent guy.

You have to watch the orchestra for this film, most of the iconic ghibli sound tracks are made by Joe Hisaishi, they have the real orchestras for these films on youtube. The one for this film is particularly spectacular, you really have to watch it.

Amazing fact it will blow you mind the girl named kaya at the start of the movie is actually ashikata fiance who gave him the locket. Also it is completely confirmed that she was pregnant with his kid. And his descendent from her passed down his legend. The movie name was first supposed to be legend of ashikata. That is why he has more screen time then monoke. You can even check the wiki fandom of girl name kaya it is real. The japanese women hated his character for him being a cheater. He was shown as brother to her for the western audience. Go check the fandom page of girl named kaya.

That rice stuff is congee, juk in chinese, okayu in japanese. It’s made by boiling rice with lots of water until it becomes thick, other ingredients like meat fish and vegetables are added for flavour, but it’s often eaten plain.
Congee is really easy to digest so in asia it’s often eaten when you are sick.

What Ashitaka is doing to his bow is that he hooks the bowstring in. Sometimes bows are stored without the string hooked in. Sometimes you also make sure that it isn’t turned and you unhooke it and hook it anew. To do so you must bend the bow a bit. That’s what he does.
