also something to note: the anime actually cut out some scenes of Eren being trained by Annie and developing a sort of freidnship with her, thus developing to this moment a little more where Eren refuses to fight and accept the truth

And just for your information, the part where Eren was having a really hard time transforming, it was different in the manga. He was also initially in denial about Annie being a traitor who killed so many people, which makes sense since she was a fellow friend and comrade that he developed a mutual relationship of respect with (Eren was also the only one to make Annie genuinely smile), but he was also quick to reign in his emotions, accept this cruel reality, and transform in order to carry out his duty. The Eren in the manga at that moment is basically very different to the Eren in the anime at this moment. And from here to the end of S1, it went down very differently from the manga. Though it’s fine I suppose since Isayama works closely with the anime studio and has stated before in an interview that the anime is basically his final draft. His ideal and more cohesive version of what he wanted in the manga.

The producer made Annie look differently than in the manga. The red cheeks were a sign of "shy happines". She should look like she is happy that everybody knows her true nature, bcs it is really twisted who she is and what her duty actually is. She feels uplifted. Sry for the bad english :/

I really prefer this scene from the manga. There Eren transformed without any rage or being impaled, just from hearing Mikasa say "The world is cruel."
Just an ice-cold realization, instead of a rage-mode that pretty much sets back Eren’s development for half an arc…
Up to this point he anime was great in adapting the source material. Even the small scenes they added (like having to ditch the corpses to escape the Titans on the retreat to the city) were great. But the last two episode of the first season really messed up in my opinion.

A lot people mostly think that Eren has feelings for Annie and it might be partially true. I can’t fault that thinking with how Eren reacted. But during their trainees days, Eren purposely trained with Annie for her martial arts skills as because of that they have healthy respect for each other.

Eren cared about Annie, she is the one who taught him how to fight, and the fact that she was lying and was actually an enemy really affected him. That’s why even though he was already told before that Annie was the female titan he still refused to believe it.

Think about it, 3 titans show far have shown up and disappeared in a strike of lightning, eren, annie, and that giant titan. Why wouldn’t annie be interested in capturing eren who basically has the same power as her

13:45 – A lot of Attack on Titan is like that. Many foreshadows have already been laid out in several episodes, some that have been revealed already, some yet to show themselves. It’s why I love AoT and its mystery.

WOAH WOAH WOAH, wait a second, when Hange said that she will "devour" all the information Annie had, she didn’t actually understand what she said because she was just trying to act cool but Annie thought that they already knew that if you devour an intelligent titan you would also get all the memories thus all the information about her too ! It was a foreshadowing all this time ! That’s why she got so mad instantly after she was told that by Hange
