The first season of sao, in my opinion, was super interesting and really cool story wise but the arc really was set up to only be one season so as the show kept going the story just got further and further into these kinda forced feeling new arcs. I watched it all the way through but it definitely lost the original sense of what the show was

I really like sword art online. It doesn’t make my top all time favorites list but it almost does. It’s really classic and even though I don’t think it makes the “incredible anime” list it’s definitely not bad and in my opinion quite good and definitely worth the watch and in the anime community you will find a lot of people will reference sword art online so I’d say it’s worth the watch even just for that

SAO is my Number 1 anime. And when people say its not that good aren’t invested and probably havent whatched the entire series every movie and season. All of the openings are amazing, hard to find in anime. I wanna see you react to SAO.

okay so the thing about sao. first half of season one is one of my favorite arcs in anime ever. the second half of season one had some unnecessary plots and scenes and were honestly hard to get through. season 2 aka gun gale is alright, could have been better. and then we have season 3. top tier, artistic, beautiful, phenomenal. the movies are fun too.

I’ll be honest, the 4th intro is definitely my favorite. But I love Amalee’s version of it makes me cry every… single… time. Definitely check it out and watch the lyrics.

So. The majority of Sword Art Online is not bad. Its really just the second and fourth arcs are really bad. I actually think the first arc, Aincrad, is great along with all of Alicization. It’s just compared to the first arc, the second is absolute trash.

People exaggerate too much, this show is very enjoyable, there were some part that felt a bit off but I researched the show, and to my surprise I missed a lot of storytelling parts which explain most of the stuff.

The first half of the first season was really great for its time (later came Overlord and such anime that took the concept and made it a little bit better), the second half was pretty meh same for the first half of the second season.
The second half of that one was then wonderfully emotional and just great.
But I really love the Alicization part including war of underworld. It again has an interesting new trope.
Like SAO in general was a trendsetter and from today’s view it’s really "not that great". But in its time it created a real big hype.
But the Openings and Endings are real bangers.
