Princess Mononoke: The Power of Miyazaki's Nature
Princess Mononoke: The Power of Miyazaki's Nature
A brief analysis of the Princess Mononoke’s natural world. I specifically look at how Hayao Miyazaki’s Princess Mononoke crafts such a compelling ecosystem and nature through narrative and character.

This is great. And I can tell you watched the Japanese version, with names such as the Ironworks and the Deer God, instead of Irontown and the Spirit of the Forest (bleh).

Miyazaki is one of the few people who moved me this much with the stories and environments they created and I continuously get goosebumps whenever people speak their heart about their favourite Ghibli movies…
I absolutely love this video! Great thoughts and very inspirational! <3

I find it interesting that the various groups were so caught up in their "side" winning that they forgot what they were fighting for.

I recently made a video essay on Miyazaki’s environmental themes as well, but I like that we went in two completely different directions. I’m glad you highlighted the Deer God, since I didn’t touch on its significance at all.
(it’s kinda cool how we both felt that the quote from the leper was so crucial to our understanding of Lady Eboshi)
