Princess Mononoke Review 25 Years Later: The Studio Ghibli Masterpiece
A review of Studio Ghibli’s 1997 classic Princess Mononoke, which celebrates 25 years. Everything from the themes of environmentalism, greed and war to the character writing of Ashitaka, San and Lady Eboshi, are analysed. it’s been a long time since the film has been out, but I hope you find the video enjoyable, even if much of it you may have heard before.

Best Ghibli film imo. Laputa The Flying Island will always have a special place in my heart as it was the first one I saw and my favourite childhood film, but Mononoke is Myazaki’s best work.

Really good analysis. I feel this movie and Nausicaa are some of the more different films Miyazaki has made but still hits on every mark.

Mononoke Hime is that one movie I’m afraid of rewatching because I may not love it as much as I did the first time.
This video may just have been the push I needed to finally do it
