I figured he was referring to Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind but what does it have to do with Princess Mononoke you know?

Have you noticed that there are 2 different versions of the English dub here? On the DVD featurette, two scene were altered for unknown reasons. The first is when Jigo is leaving with Ashitaka after getting rice. In the uncut version he says " You fight like a demon boy. Like something possessed." Instead of " You fight like a demon. Where did you learn to fight like that? The second altered scene was when San was questioning Ashitaka after Irontown, saying in short " I’ll cut your throat open".

Well it looks like the improvements worked! Your voice was much more clear than usual; especially the usage of the punctuations that were in place. Overall, I think we have a standing ovation! Great show Michael!

Cont. "so I don’t ever have to listen to your voice again" with him replying "so lovely. Instead of San saying " that woman is evil, and there’s no one who can stop me from killing her. Ashitaka then said " No, live". San followed with "that’s enough". And ended with him replying sorrowfully yet satisfied "so beautiful". Go ahead and see for yourself of what I mean…

A little bit of a Gary Stu? Nah, he IS a Gary Stu and he’s ultimately irrelevant to the central conflict of the story. San, while having more character depth, is also largely irrelevant to the central conflict.

Thank you! It is close to being an R rated film but really I don’t think it’s a problem with the film to be honest.

I love this film. It has everything one can ask: romance, action, religion, and a very, very good message about war and ecology. It also feels like an ode to Japan, as if Miyazaki wanted to write a love letter about everything Japanese.

Moro’s voice was played by the man in Japanese original dub, but you don’t know the actor Akihiro Miwa who is surely a man, wearing woman’s clothes and puts on make-up. Akihiro Miwa is known as the person between male and female in Japan. Maybe he is a gay or transgender or something like that? I guess most Japanese think he is a man, but a woman at the same time. So Jillian really did good work I agree that, but Akihiro Miwa’s playing Moro’s voice has a specific meaning for a god, I think.

Princess Mononoke is a film that I would have no hesitation recommending to anyone who loves animated movies. It’s just so slick and powerful, not to mention technically impressive and artistically outstanding. Truly a masterpiece. 🙂

I know Akihiro Miro was a man, and I did hear he wears women’s clothes, I also know he also played The Witch of the Waste in the Japanese version of Howl’s Moving Castle. That does make sense that his voice might have a specific meaning for a god.
