Okay, I have plenty of series to suggest, so here’s a few: Gangsta., Hellsing Ultimate, Attack on Titan, Kuroko no Basket, Cowboy Bebop, and Trigun.
For movies? Well, somee personal favorites that I think are good are: Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, Spirited Away, Cowboy Bebop the Movie, Tales of Vesperia the Movie, Wolf Children, Summer Wars, Tekkonkinkreet, and Blood: The Last Vampire.

watch deathnote or berserk. good starter series, ninja scroll and sword or the stranger are good follow up movies. then kenshin and samurai x for the finisher to blow the mind
