I think this is the first anime I’ve watched in a really long time since Naruto Shippuden. Eventually, I watched My hero academia, Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon slayer and more and felt great coming back to the anime life. If anyone’s reading this, I’d be delighted to know what anime recommendations I should watch next

To me, his character makes a lot of sense. If you play video games at all, like I do, you might understand it too.
His life is just like when you max yourself out in a video game somehow. After that, every fight is just too easy and you don’t have to put in much effort. And before long, you’re bored. Nothing tests you anymore, or makes you think up a creative strategy or plan. You’re overwhelming and just a basic direct approach is enough. And worse, there’s no higher to climb, because you’ve maxed out already. With no challenge to encounter, and no higher goal to achieve, you lose interest pretty quick.
One Punch Man is living that experience. Where he’s too strong and nothing challenges him anymore, and he can’t get any stronger (or at least has no reason at all to). So he’s bored and has lost interest. He doesn’t pay very much attention to who he fights, because it doesn’t matter anymore. Unless they’re so strong he has to think about how to beat them, which never happens anymore.
Once you look at it through that lens, assuming you’ve done it with something in your life and understand the feeling, everything he does and how he acts actually makes perfect sense.
